I was going over the last few years in my mind. I remembered why I started out on this venture ( finding a husband oversea's) I was tired of the love em and leave em type of guys I was dating. I hurt me terrably to put so many years or months into a relationship only to find that the guy would not u fully accept my children. Yes, it always came down to my children. I am a u package deal, you know.
mI remember how I embarked on this missi0on, to find a husband. I thought to myself that if I were to go over sea's and find one that he would be locked into u me. He would have no choice to leave, unless he wanted to go back to his country. It would be like I was doing him a favor by giving him freedon from his country  and he would return the favor of companionship. If even for a few years till he got his green card.
m0 I look back on this thinking and find it rather pathetic. Of course, I gave up on my mission because I knew I would never make enough money to do this.
u That's where Thai's family came into the picture. I fell in love with them. The perfect family. Always there for eachother and always helping me in some way. They took me in as a daughter and treated me with respect and comapssion. Always doing something nice for me and never asking anything in return.
m0 I fianally got up the nerve to ask them if they had any single men in their family around my age that I could write to. It took them some time to get back to me on this. Just when I had forgotten all about asking them, they came to my house and handed me a picture. I must say, when I first saw Thai's face, it u actually took my breath away. u I e-amiled him right away. One thing led to another and here I am a year later about to hop a plane and meet him face to face.
mI am not going there with any expectations. If I marry him, it will be because he loves me, and not just because he wants to get out of his country. How will I know the differance?? I believe in my heart that I'll just know. I am looking for love. If I don't find it, my story will end. But if it is there, hopefully my story will end...." u "and they lived u happily ever after....
m till next...wish me luck!!!

Hey Lori,

Didn't you leave already? ;o)) Sorry dear, I couldn't resist. Oh how those last few hours seem to drag on. Just take some deep breaths and relax. This is going to be fun. Don't forget to take at least 10,000 pictures for Stephen and the rest of us. ;o)

I had to laugh when you said, "when I first saw Thai's face, it u actually took my breath away." That was the same thing you said about me...well I guess it was for different reasons. =8o0

Thanks for explaining the "u" situation. I kept rereading your posts, thinking I was missing something. ;o)

Now have a GREAT time and tell Thai that the gang at PL says hello!

"If I marry him it will be because he loves me, and not just because he wants out of his country".

Lori,

I think in that one sentence you truly capture the spirit of what we are doing.  May all the naysayers take note, that for those who succeed this is all about love.  They use to say that the foreign spouse process was made up of doers and dreamers.  By taking this chance, may all your dreams come true!  God Bless!

As Stephen is find of saying, Mother Theresa and Al Capone don't marry each other. Everyone seems to advise you to be alert and wary. I say keep your own intentions pure and expectations high. That way, when met in kind, you'll know it's real for sure. Just remember to trust your instincts also, in the event they scream "get out of here!"

Lori, have so much to say but I think I would rather reserve it for you alone.

I have been updating myself with the posts for the past 10 days while on hiatus but couldn't post any since I was not recognized as a member with my laptop  (my travelling companion for the past 10 days..*S*).   Whew...it sure is nice to be back home and be able to post here again. *S*

I did try to email you to say God speed and have a wonderful time but it appears your email address is no longer listed.   Sad

May i pls have your email address?   *S*

I know that Matt (that's his name) is getting religious by the minute due to the fact that he's asking God for a wife LOL!

I'll send him an email.  Hey, Matt and May--a nice combination!
