"K3 visa will not be coming soon, U.S. Texas Senator Hutchison office advises, INS inform them not to expect regualtions on NEW K3 until late July or later!Informed also that I130 for spouse of (USC) are now being processed for May 2000. You may expect delay of 18 months."

Funny how getting illegals and letting businesses buy visa went to the top of the list ain't it!!?  Then the whole purpose of the Act is tossed to the side.

Bear,

The situation really does suck and I am not surprised, since I am a former city, county, and federal employee. The government's attitude seems to be; "We already have the illegals here doing menial low paying work, that Americans don't want to do. Let's make sure we can keep them. We can also make billions by extorting businesses, because of their need to fill positions quickly. If they don't like it, they will have the option of waiting 2 years. Those fiancé and spousal people will just have to wait until we have nothing better to do. Their situation is not urgent." The INS claimed that the "premium processing" would not have a negative impact on spousal and fiancé visas. Right....sure. I wonder how they are able to do it for $1000, when they couldn't do it for the standard fee...and they are not hiring additional employees, at least for now. They are either cloning people or making them work harder, causing them to become more disgruntled and inefficient. They also claim that some of the revenue earned from "premium processing" could be used to hire more employees in the future, to help with the fiancé and spousal visas. I am not that foolish. The money will most likely be used elsewhere, or will stay within the INS and the outside funding for the budget cut accordingly. I have predicted 9-12 months for current K-1 and K-3 visa applications. It looks like I will have to revise that to 12-18 months...or perhaps 18-24, which is now the case for the I-130. I sure hope that I am wrong, but I just don't see how adding to the bureaucracy (Chicago K-3 processing) can do anything but complicate matters even more. It has already been proven by their inability to implement the K-3 Visa on schedule, the NVC, and Regional Service Centers. I wonder if the government attitude is; "Lets make it more time consuming and difficult to obtain fiancé and spousal visas. Why can't they just marry a woman already in the US? There are plenty of unwed welfare mothers available." Of course they don't realize that most of them have live-in boyfriends.

Dave,
I think you're giving too much credit to the government by thinking they have any particular reason for their actions, I think all goverment agencies are run more on chaos myself.   Just a big bunch of people rolling along purely by momentum with no idea what to do or how to get it done.   That's what we do around here at least!  LOL  As Ray said, just hang in there.   If it takes too long, you can always use the long wait as an excuse to hop back over to the Philippines for a couple of weeks visit!

Thanks Steve,

That was my "Conspiracy Theory." LOL You are right! In my civil service days, we always ran on chaos...swithing to the most urgent need of our superiors and pencil whipping when we could. Ultimately, it was always quantity and not quality that mattered most. Maybe I will have to join the INS and teach them my "Quantity Methods." ;o)) I was about to hop on a plane to the PI in several weeks. My plans were canceled by the FCAT exam (Florida school testing). One of my sons has to go to summer school and won't be able to spend 3 weeks in North Carolina with his mother and grandparents. I have to work on Plan B.

Yeah Dave, the waiting is tough but you can handle it. No, the system is not fair, but who ever tell you this was going to be easy? :-)

Just hang in there...

Thanks Ray,

Good rant...wasn't it? ;o)) I feel much better now. That was for all my bros out there in the "Twilight Visa Zone." I am actually doing good. I am just going with the flow. I just feel a bit sorry for the spousal visa guys. They had there hopes set on the K-3 and a rapid reunification and just keep getting strung along. I will probably be done before the end of the year.

Take it easy...thanks for slapping me back to reality.

OK Jim,

Let me continue then...Cody is the best and cutest son in the world. I am the best mother in the world. I carried Regis and the show for all of those years. I was asked to be the host of "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" first. I am the most talented person on Earth. I don't whine when I talk or sing. Frank did not have sex with that woman. I am the prettiest, sexiest, and best wife in the world. Frank was the greatest football player that ever lived. I paid those little foreign kids lots of money to make the "Kathie Lee Collection"...ungrateful little brats. Jesus knows me...and he knows I'm right. Life just isn't fair!!! WOW...it really sucks being Kathie Lee...it isn't easy either. I prefer Pamela Lee. ;o))

Jeez, Dave, when someone plays the straight man you really know how to run with it!  I bet it comes from years of practice at the fire house.  I have this stereotyped vision of fire house guys sitting around all day playing hearts and watching The Weather Channel, cooking, eating, and trading barbs and comebacks all day long.  You've been honing the edge on that wit for 20 years and now it's professional quality, second nature, total instinct.  Being a fireman must be like being a grunt in Vietnam - 95% boredom and 5% sheer terror!

Hi Jim,

WOW...I don't know what to say. Stop it...I'm getting an even bigger head. No wonder I missed you so much when you were in the Philippines. ;o)) You don't think people are starting to think that Jimbo is one of my aliases? I was definately a grunt, but in my case, the terror was more like 50%. For many years, my lieutenants were a retired Marine DI and an Army Ranger.
