Looks like Jovie and I will be starting where we intended to end up instead of starting in Arnold CA and moving up there later. I'll be living in Portland in a month and getting back to my education as a machinist asap. My job here evaporated what with my surgery and then my boss's back surgery coming up.
In the meantime, if there are any of you Northwesterners who have any ideas for me--like is there a friendly Filipino community up there, is there a particular church in the area that they prefer to go to, etc. I think this is gonna be a much better place for my sweetie from the tropics than Arnold CA. Arnold is a retirement community for people who have nothing better to do with their money than to buy $280,000 "cabins" that they rarely see...she's used to a big family and lots of friends and no snow. Everything grows in Portland, and I have family up there. I have a good feeling about this.
Despite everyone's good advice and my recent surgery, we can't get off this "let's get married right now" kick, so marriage it is, in Jan/Feb coming up. I think we are old enough (and Jovie comes well recommended) to work out the obvious tangles that will come up.
