What a Fine Mess I miscalculated and got myself into. I 've Ridiculously supported my Son's mother since 1999 with monthly funds(our Son was born in 2000, he is here) to present, she was the only "One" I ever visited with overseas. To make a long story short for those familiar with my situation, I decided not to Risk sending thousands of dollars to a Filipino Lawyer to Annulment her Marriage. Instead, I'm paying the thousands of dollars toward her returning to Hong Kong for employment and a better life. She was doing very well in Hong Kong before she met me, now she should do just fine. I will continue to send her video movies and pictures of our Son, take our Son to visit her in HK, but we both shall move on to more greener pastures.  I warn Guys who seek to find and be found by Love and Happiness aboard, DON'T get YOURSELF involved with any Filipina that say she is Separated, etc(of course thats your choice, your Risk, your time, your $$). Becuz there is no Divorce in the Philippines, only Annulment of marriage, cost lots pesos and time for the Annulment, no guarantee that the court would grant the Annulment, the Filipino Lawyer could pocket the money and do nothing. Run don't Walk if she say she is Separated, etc. I feel both relieved and partly sad on my decision to help our Son's mother return to Hong Kong. I was hoping for us to find a honest Lawyer to Annulment her marriage, sad to say..I can't get myself to send thousands of dollars to an unknown Filipino Lawyer, as a single Parent here in America..Life is expensive, can't afford to Risk throwing away that kinda money. I feel better using that money for Her to return aboard to work for her own salary than to give it to an UNKNOWN. God Bless, greg

I remember reading about your unfortunate situation.  

I think besides the separation thing, you should also warn men about having children too quickly into the relationship/marriage.

I think a man should wait at least 2 years after marrying a foreigner (or an American, for that mattter), to see how the marriage will develope.  If there's stability and it seems the marriage will endure, then you start the process of bringing a child into the world. If you detect major problems, then you won't have that lifelong bond of a child to complicate an impending breakup.

If I remember correctly, you got this woman pregant pretty quickly, and then you were trapped.  LEssons learned.
