I am not sure where to begin but I will give it a try.  I have been lurking on the board for a few months now. I could have really used this forum a few years ago before I married my ex wife. I missed alot of red flags out of ignorance on my part.  I won't go into it now but if any of you would like to know my story I would be glad to post it.  I am not blaming Filpinas.  I think Filipinas are wonderful but I just happened to marry the wrong one.  I would like to get married to another Pinay in the future.  I spent alot of time in Davao City and Garden Island of Samal where my ex wife is from.  That is one of the things that I am going to miss.  Paradies Island was only about three miles down the road from where she lived.  Great place to cool off from the heat.  Thanks to all of you for educating me over the last few months.  I am ready for a new beginning.

Keith,

Welcome!

If it makes you feel any better, I had the benefit of this site and still misfired on my first marriage Tongue  I am on track now with the most wonderful young lady from Davao Smiley  In fact her interview is in Late July and I am counting the seconds until I see my Mahal again Cheesy

I LOVED Paradise Island Resort!  Spent several blissful days there not so long ago Smiley

If there's anything we can do, don't hesitate to ask Smiley

Keep the Faith!

Howard,

Thanks for the offer.  I know you understand what I have gone through since you went through it yourself.

Hey congrats on your girls interview.  I know you must be so excited now that you can barely stand it.  The girls from Davao are really beautiful.  I remember walking in SM and all I could think about if some of the guys back home would just give this thing a shot they would be in heaven seeing all these beautiful ladies in one place.  I am really going to miss that place.  What were some of your places that you and your girl visted when you were there?  Did you go to Jacks Ridge any?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

K~

Never made it to Jack's Ridge, but went up some Mountain Tongue  Saw the Japaneese Tunnels and went to meet friends at the Mall in Davao.  Met some very nice people from the board who own businesses in the Mall there.  Celia helped my Fiancee pick out our engagement ring Smiley

I'm not much for sightseeing, but we did get around a lot while in Davao.  I spent most of my time in Little Panay which was the most serene, hospitable place on Earth!

I had too much fun with Gerlie's nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers, etc...  Her family was a total blast and the kids just loved their Kuya Smiley

I am very partial to the Davao area.  Big enough to get anything you need, but small enough that you can get away from the city without too much hassle.

More Later

Keith,  I would encourage you to post your entire story.  Great thing about the internet, no one really knows you, so you can show all your mistakes to these folks, the worst they can do is humiliate you verbally.  The best that can happen is you can learn how to do this thing properly, and find a woman so much better than you would ever find here, that you just won't believe it until it happens.  See my post immediately above yours.  Real experience is great, but you can also highly leverage it with learning about what others have done.  Now that you have been thru this deal yourself, you know some of the possibilities.  I think the single most valuable piece of advice I know on this thing came from a guy who did a book on the subject, basically he said the key to success on this deal is to have an extended correspondence.  This was before email and chat were so prevelant.  I would modify his thought a bit, and say in the age of email and chat, stick with email (or real letters), until you are rather sure about one.  chat is too much like the phone, you get too excited, and she does not have to put as much of herself into it.  To really be successful, you have to write some extremely well thought out and detailed letters, with questions, and she has to respond accordingly.  The English factor makes it quite a puzzle too.  still, she must prove her sincerity and commitment, and show her real self, and that is where the EXTENDED correspondence concept comes into play.  Feel free to contact me if you want to go into detail on some of this stuff.
