Also, they missed the 40 year Russian experiment where they bred tamed foxes.  So now there are completely domesticated foxes.

Don't know about the rest, but this one is an old myth circulated by paranoid Canucks looking for Yanks under every bed.

A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours.

- Not all of them. Many live a few weeks. The Mayfly is the one with the one-day adult lifespan (althought they may live as larvae up to three years in the water, depending on species).

A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds.

- "Mythbusters" on TV debunked this one. They trained goldfish to navigate several obstacles that required at least 30 seconds to complete, and some of the fish took over a minute.

Almonds are a member of the peach family.

- Actually, peaches are a branch of the almond family. Peaches were domesticated from almonds.

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.

- And this is different from the average politician, how?

Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age.

- Wrong. They have them but they are not fully developed. You can find this in most encyclopedia that show newborn skeletons.

February 1865 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon.

- Wrong. Years in which February lacked or will lack a full moon are 1809, 1847, 1866, 1885, 1915, 1934, 1961, 1999, 2018, 2037, 2067, 2094 (Meeus 1995, Odenwald).

In the last 4,000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.

- Wrong. American Bison (buffalo) were domesticated in the twentieth century. Although domestic herds are not huge, they are larger than the remaining wild herds. Ostrich and emu are also domesticated now but in far smaller numbers. Humans began to domesticate the rabbit early in the 5th century, BC.

If the population of China walked past you, in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.

- Wrong. As best explained by Richard Ritter. "The current population of China is about 1.25 billion, with about 20 million births per year. We'll assume that the birthrate stays about the same, as the population grows a bit but the births per 1000 drops a bit, under the current one child per family policy. The Chinese walk, say, 3 feet apart at 3 miles per hour, for a rate of 46 million Chinese per year. So even if no one died in line, the line would shorten by 26 million per year and run out in about 1250/26 = 48 years. (Different assumptions could lead to a different conclusion.)"

On a Canadian two dollar bill, the flag flying over the Parliament building is an American flag.

- Debunked by others, it is the Canadian flag used before they switched to the Maple Leaf.

Peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite.

- Only in the filling which changed nitro into dynamite.

Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur.

- So do zebras.

Winston Churchill was born in a ladies' room during a dance.

- False. From the Urban Legends website: Winston's mother may have been attending a dance when she went into labor and delivered him in the palace where the dance was held, but he wasn't actually born until more than 24 hours later, long after the dance had ended and all the guests had departed. And the room where the birth took place wasn't a ladies' room at all but ordinary living quarters temporarily pressed into service as a cloakroom, as can be seen in photographs of Blenheim Palace. (The confusion may stem from the fact that 'cloakroom' is sometimes employed as a euphemism for 'lavatory,' but in this case 'cloakroom' was clearly used in its literal sense.) Intriguing circumstances, but still a fair bit short of the more captivating rumor.

Your stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every two weeks; otherwise it will digest itself.

- Actually, it constantly produces mucus, much like your skin constantly produces more cells to replace the ones that flake off, and as elephant's teeth continue to grow as they are worn down.
