Finally,

Maricel got the ticket to Los Angeles and then connecting flight to Orlando Florida on May 6th.   It cost $10 extra to fly from Cagayan to Manila instead of Cebu to Manila.   The cost was $800 with Philippine Airlines and connecting flights with Delta to Orlando.  She has 3 hours for connecting flights when she arrives in Los Angeles to catch the Delta flight to Orlando.  What I remember the waiting lines for immigration and customs at LAX went smooth and fast.   There were a few Filipinas ahead of me and I didn't see any delays.  So it looks like smooth sailing.  Maricel has over 2 weeks to say good bye and they can see her off at the Airport in Cagayan.

But I have to say to get the info on the flights on departs and arrival was like pulling teeth.   Those tickets are not that easy to read if your not familiar with them.

Maricel did express concern of what would happen if I am not there to meet her at the Airport?

But I sent her a book with all the the phone numbers in it to call if there is a problem.

Her flight arrives at 6am in the morning and I am not a morning person.

She got her luggage for the trip and is ready to go so now it is a count down for May 6.

She wanted to know how much $ she should have on her person for the trip.   I suggested $50 to $100 coz the only time she can spend it is between flights in Los Angeles.   But it would be a good idea for emergency.  I remember exchanging dollars to pesos in the Mall but never asked if they change pesos to dollars, do they do that?

I couldn't find anyone who did six months ago.

International airports usually exchange currency in any direction.
