Would any one know that when the K3 package arrives can anyone in the family sign for it.   How stricked are they on that?   If they will not let anyone else sign for it how long do they keep it before it is sent back to Manila?   My wife is now at her parents house in Mindanao but the address the Embassy has is in Cebu at her Aunts house.  I am charged with the decission making on how to best handle this delema.  I have chatted with Raquel and we have come up with a solution but lack some details.  The more options the better.  It would take at least two days for my wife to get the message and travel to Cebu from Abu Sayaf counry.  If Fed Ex lets her aunt sign for the package there is no problem with time.  If the Fed Ex holds it in Cebu for a week there is no problem either.  Otherwise my wife has to wait for the package in Cebu and rent a pention house and check every day if the package has come.  Her Aunts house is crowded with cousins going to seamans school.  Any help or comments would be appreciated.  This problem has come up as I decided not to change the original address to the Embassy delivery.  I expect the delivery any time after the 15 of Feb.  The NVC received the approval of the I-129 on the 26 of Jan.   There notice stated a K3 would be sent in 4 to 6 weeks.
It would be so simple if my wife lived where she gave the mailing address.  But at the time we had plans for her to work in Cebu and had since changed her mind.
Thanks

apparently:

http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/rp1/wwwhniv1.html

"Take this tag to the courier service desk in the Pavilion outside Gate 4, where you will need to arrange for delivery of your passport and visa. The current delivery fee is 110 pesos per visa for delivery in metro areas, with an additional handling fee for provincial areas."

which could include, one would assume, specifying an address and/or receiver.

Why a whole two weeks in Manila, by the way?

... in response to She will have opportunity to make the ar..., posted by HaroldC on Feb 2, 2004

I am done to haveing her come a week before the Interview in case there is a problem with the test result in St. Lukes.

Any idea of how soon we get a notice for the Interview by Fed Ex?

The next available interview date is March 29th so I figure 3 weeks prior March 5th to get the notice by Fed Ex.

I want my wife to stay at her parents house as long as possible in Mindanao.  The delivery address is far away from her in Cebu at her Aunts house.   I don't want her to miss the delivery or wait around for nothing unnecessary.

If I know how much notice if given in the K3 package I can make a good estimate of when to send her to Cebu.

Right now I will send her to Cebu Feb 15th I guess she will wait 3 weeks for the delivery but it is all a big guess any input?

If she misses the delivery I know they will hold it for a while but not sure how long I will call them tonight and find out.  I guess they won't let her Aunt sign for her right??;

Well I am almost figureing this delema out as I get more details

... in response to FedX Exclusive Call Center Hotline 63-2-..., posted by HaroldC on Feb 2, 2004

Thanks for the number

I called Fed Ex in the PI

Said, they try to deliver 3 times

Then it is sent back to the Emassy.

They do not hang on to them even one day.

I can make a letter authorizing them to let anothr sign for them.  So if I get into a pinch this is a good option.

If you are not there to recieve it they will keep it for a few days at the Fedex center for you to come and pick it up.  Then it will be returned to the Embassy.

I thought so, just a few days may or may not be enough for her to get notice and get the ferry to pick it up from Mindanao.  Is there a specific amount of time they hold the Fed Ex before shipping it back?

Yeah but we can no longer sure what it is.  Actually its probably LBC that will deliver it.  Call them and ask at the embassy.
