Hey Everyone!!!

Long time no post but faithful lurker!!

As always, got a question. Where can you go in Cebu to extend your visa past the 21 day marker? I went to the PH. Bureau of Immigration website and they said they have an office in Cebu didn't give the address. (Figures)
I'll have to get one and I quess my 14th month old daughter because she is a U.S. citizen, right? We waiting for the little ones passport and Nancys, Green card extension. Cutting it close!!
We plan to stay the month of April in Surigao and have fun, fun, fun till my bank account runs out of pesos.( Sung to the Beach Boys tune) We'll take lots of pictures and post them to our website when we come back.

Thanks peeps,

Take care,

Thanks guys,

Yep, the little one is getting bigger everyday. She almost has the hang of getting Daddy's medicine from the fridge.
I forgot about the Balikbayans pass. I guess they keep moving the Cebu consulate every couple of years to fool Abu Sayaff.  I can hardly wait to get a cold San Miguel or two or three or four...hic. I'll keep everyone posted till we leave.

Take care,

Surigao Ken

The cebu immigration office is behind the large fire station in Mandaue, about 10 minutes from SM mall.
I believe they do close for lunch, and service seems faster in the afternoons. I just take a book, and it takes about an hour to receive the extension.
Or, most travel agencies will handle it for you for about a 500 peso fee and you get your passport back the next working day.

Hi Ken,

Wow! 14 months already?

If you are traveling together, you all should be able to enter the country as Balikbayans and stay for up to a year without a visa. Ask them to stamp your passports for Balikbayan at Philippine Immigration when you arrive. You should bring some photocopies of your marriage certificate, passport ID pages, and Nancy’s green card.

I wish I were going with you. Have a great trip!

Ken;

The Cebu consolate is now in the basement of the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug.

Go in the morning for best service.

The cebu consolate is only available in person from 9-11 am M-F
Or, you can call them only from 8-9am M-F (032)231-1261
I just renewed my passport ($55) , had friendly service, and received my new passport in 3 weeks, but those short hours are ridiculous.

Well, that is an improvement. Last time I was there was for legal capacity and they would only do that on Friday mornings. So, I went up there from Dumaguete one thursday, spent the night, and was then merrily told on friday that the interveiwing officer was off that week.

It was my understanding then that they had a new consular officer supposed to start soon, and then they would run 9-5 mon-fri. Evidently that didn't happen?

Does that mean that John Domingo is finally leaving?

That guy had a racket. He would come in at 11 a.m. to take care of the people with affidavits, sign a few papers, and be out of there in time for lunch (LOL)
