My profile on Filipina Heart has generated some 100 responses from 19 and 20 year olds in a few weeks time.  I used to try to keep up with answering them, but it seems pointless and they get mad when I am not interested.  So I added an age clause to my description which immediately generated a mail from an 18 yo pleading with me that she is almost 19.

Geez.

Hi Carr,

The ones I that are interesting withdraw interest after a
while, dunno why, bad breath?  Had a good one going and
her profile shut off and she does not respond to her hotmail.

Then there was the girl with a masters degree who sent a
mail and I saw her on yahoo chat and she did not know who
I was- she ahd just sent the mail.

Then the too young gal who keeps sending me mail asking
why I have not responded but has not read any of the
mails I sent her.

The one gal who's profile shut off e-mailed me telling me
basically, "You think i'm not gonna mail u?".  So, I'm happy
with that.  She provided a e-mail address (her phone has an email
address) that messages her cell phone through the site:
http://www1.smart.mymobile.ph/.

I don't know what age you are, but I would no longer even consider girls of this age bracket. Not too long ago I thought that was the thing to do, but experience has taught me otherwise. I found most of them to simply not be mature enough at that age to know what they wanted in life, unless what they wanted was your money or to live like 90210...

Good luck.

Hi Shadow,

I am a decrepit 38 going on 39 in a month.  Gee, in another year
I get to have a crisis. ;(

Anyway my target age group has been 25-35 for the past 4 years of
looking.  I have thought to change this to 30-40 for just the same
reasons you mentioned.  I have meet pinays here that married at 20
or 21 and thought it was a good thing and ended up divorced.

Not sure if the attention is flattering or annoying.

Jon

Hi Jon,

At 44 I was looking at ages 30 and up.  One of the trade-offs might be: perhaps more emotional baggage.  And less trusting.  But I think it's well worth it because, once you get past those issues, you got a friend for life; someone ready to commit.  That's my 2 piso.

Just cooling my heels here at LAX - got a crummy 8 hour layover because everything was full when I booked.  But today the plane was less than half full.  Well, I'm just happy to be going.  Sally went ahead of me... I miss her already.

So I took a break and went for a hike.  Terminal 1 to terminal 7, switch the shoulder strap, and back again, switch and back again.  Now it's getting close to the time for PAL 103 to head out (not mine) and the Filipinos are showing up in droves with the balikbayan boxes - I love it!

Oh well, guess I should have called ahead and had Jeff or Stephen come by to keep me company :O)

I wonder what that futuristic restaurant up in the air with all the colored lights is?  Looks like something out of the Jetsons cartoon...

There's some great spots in Manhattan Beach - just south of there. That resturaunt was built about the time the Jetsons were on TV - the mid 60s. It's a decent place to eat. Years ago in the bar they used to have a lady playing the harp - no not a harmonica as in "sittin in on a blues number" - a real harp. It was a little odd but hey, it's LA. Next time you have an 8 hour layover, let me know.

There has been plenty of horror stories already. After years of searching and mistakes, I now have the opinion most are not mature enough for marriage until somewhere around the age of 25 or more. Any younger just increases the odds of failure.

Just my opinion.

Gee, I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has this problem... Just separate the wheat from the chaff and focus on the ones you are most interested in getting to know... Decline the others...
