Yo Jimbo,
Good to see a post from you, I thought you were
already in the Phils. I hope Sally conquers her
fear in going back home. Tell her I said hi.

Hey Joe,

She wants to go and now she's beginning to see that putting it off doesn't necessarily make it safer.  The war on terror is going to be a long one.  We'll minimize our time in Manila and look for good security at the dive resorts.

I like the Coral Cay, looks like they have their own dive shop now.  We've got the tickets but I'm not posting dates or places for security reasons.  Sally is worried so, even though I'm all fired up to go, a postponement is possible if she doesn't feel comfortable enough with it.

Today I saw the story of an Abu Sayyaf truck bomber captured in Manila but I don't know if this will make her feel better or worse about the trip (..security is having some success but the threats are real).  I really want to go and I need the vacation bad but I must take her feelings into account.  She says I'm stubborn and I say she's overstating the risk.  The decision will be made at the last moment.

Siquijor and Dumaguete are two of the safest places in the world! I wouldn't even think twice about a trip now. I would spend as little time as I could in Manila! Don't let all that hype spoil your trip. Hum
