Mailed 15 letters to the phillipines 4-5 weeks ago and have not heard anything. I'm wondering if it is me or is there a better way to make contact.

Lot's of good estimates here for sending/recieving mail...that is, if the letters arrive at all. My wife has quit sending any type of mail to Cebu, only 1 out of 5 letters arrived. E-mails have their risks also, but you might consider oneandonly.com, about $20 a month membership to send 1000's of emails or filipinogirlstours.com (no,not a "tour" co.) free email addy's and the operators meet and interview every girl on ther site

If you are really interested in the ladies send a follow up letter, complete with photos and such. If you're using a computer print the letters and jazz them up.
When I was courting the lovies from the Orient I printed the ladies name in a differnt color and font, somthing to catch their eye.
Remember, the good looking ones are getting loads of letters from around the world. Make your letter stand out.
Hope this helps.
Been drinking beer.
Take care,

Hi Chevy,

My letters took 5-6 weeks to reach Butuan City, Mindanao. 2-3 weeks for the return response. If you didn't have them stamped or stickered "Air Mail" they may take months to reach a lady in the provinces, as they wander along by ship from island to island. Email and cellphones have made contact much easier. Good Luck!

Figure on 2-3 weeks going over, 2-3 weeks to get around to writing a letter, then another 2-3 weeks coming back (6-9 weeks)

Shoot guy, we live in an electronic age... Fire off some emails and get something started first... Then follow up with snail mail... Or ya could light the fire on that bow-tie you got under the hood and just drive 'em over... lol.. Sorry, couldn't resist...

... in response to Carrier Pigeon..., posted by wizard on Nov 21, 2002

Hey Wizard,

I think carrier pigeon would be faster than snail mail on the "slow boat"...although there is a strong possibility that the bird might get eaten enroute. :oP
