A trip report

Hi all,
Thought I would share some info regarding my October trip to the Philippines. I really did not make a lot of plans due to the fact that the main thing I needed to do was just get away for awhile and relax. A few days before I left I did go online and arrange to have a few penpals to meet when I arrived in the Philippines. I am still not ready to be serious about anyone, but I thought it would be fun to meet some new faces while I was there.
Also, there are two guys that I met up with while I was there, and between meeting my penpals, and meeting the friends of their penpals, I probably met close to 20 Filipinas on my 30 day trip.
After unwinding for a few days in Cebu, I decided to take the Supercat to Bohol to meet one of my penpals. I called her before I left and explained to her that I would like to find a hotel room just for myself, and that I would like to pay under $20 a day. I tried to make it clear that I needed privacy to be able to sleep, and that her and her friends could visit anytime during the day.
Well, she meets me at the dock with two of her friends. One friend is about 25, and is very pretty. The other friend is about 27, and is a very flamboyant homosexual, not that there is anything wrong with that, for you Seinfeld fans.. And, of course, all three of them have their bags with them...
They suggested that I stay at the Bohol Plaza, which is about a 30 minute ride up a mountain and outside of tagbilaran. Yes, the hotel was only $20, but it was very isolated, and the penpal was expecting to get 2 rooms, one for me, and one for her and her friends.
I got the one room for myself, and tried to give the penapal money for a taxi home, but it was apparently too late for that, and we all ended up sleeping in my room.
My penpal and her friends did turn out to be really nice people, but I was a little annoyed that they did not respect my wishes.
Anyway, penpal #1 was very happy to see me, was more attractive in person than in her picture, and was very affectionate. The surprising thing is that she was very affectionate in front of her friends, as well as in front of her family, I had never been around a Filipina that was so affectionate in front of others.
After 3 days with penpal #1 (and her friends), I had decided that it was too soon for me to be involved with someone, so I sat down with her and tried to explain why I was returning to Cebu, and that I could not see us as being anything more than friends. After about an hour of talking, she smiled really big, and she started thanking me for ending things with her! I was really confused by this until she confessed that she had been pressured by her friends and family to be with me, and that was the main reason she was being affectionate with me. Yipes!, I am glad that I had decided it was too soon for me to be serious with her. It would have been disasterous to find out later that it was her friends and family, and not her that wanted us to be together.
Another odd thing that happened is that this penpal was the first of 4 or 5 that told me that she had had sex with a Filipino ex-boyfriend, but that they had only done it that one time. The odd part is that several of the girls that I met later would tell me the same exact story. They would have had a Filipino boyfriend that they lost their virginity to, but the sex act had only happened that one time. I really do not care if a woman is a virgin or not, but it was odd to hear the same story over and over from different women in different cities.
