US Embassy in Manila sent her a letter saying her case was under review. I have called them every 2 weeks since then and it is still under review. It has been a year since i seen her and i plan to go back Christmas to visit her, if she is not approved by then.

I always am positive with her and call and e-mail her most everyday. I am begining to worry a little, but i don't tell her that.

She is a nurse and did have a 3 year nursing contract in Libya as a lot of Filipina nurses did. But it is a Muslim country, and 9/11 could not have helped. She is Catholic and all police checks are clear along with her physical and i did the best i could with all paperwork, and i feel good it was done correctly.

She has been back in the Philippines now for over 5 years, but i wonder if her working as a nurse in Libya will be a problem since war with Iraq seems more likely as the days go by.

She is very sweet and kind. I love her very much. Well, thanks for everything. I stop by from time to time and have learned a lot. Good luck to everyone.

            Best Regards

Get in plenty of fishing. I don't know if it'll help but it sure couldn't hurt. After she arrives, you'll find you don't have nearly enough time for your bachelor habits.

Hi Red,

It's great that you remain positive with Rosie. She is probably already getting an earful from other Filipinas regarding the length if time it is taking. I know it's difficult being separated and not knowing if or when she will get her visa. I don't see any reason why she shouldn't receive the visa soon. There are many nurses that have worked in Arab countries before coming to the US. It wouldn't hurt to contact your congressman, if you haven't done so already. Good luck, I hope she is here before Christmas.

You've been diligent and done all you can.  I congratulate you for keeping your cool and patience.  This has been a long time for you.

My opinion is that the delay is not connected with her time spent in a muslim country.  (But I'm not an expert.)

Hang in there.
