Just thought i would update the board on the sidewalk vendor war going on in Manila while i was there.
The MMDA which is the govt agency with the authority to clear vendors, is trying to give the sidewalks and public right of ways back to the citizens since it has deemed sidewalk vendors a hazard to pedestrians, forcing them out on the street.
Mostly the agency just confiscates the vendors goods and donates them to charity and destroys his vendor stall, this is after giving one month warning, or sometimes no warning.

Last week while i was there, a vendor pulled a gun, and started shooting, needless to say, gunfire was returned by the authorities and the vendor was killed.

Another interesting tidbit from the trip, like i said i learned a lot while i was there.
