Time for us to join Tim and take a vacation from here.

Don, I don't blame you at all for wanting a sabbatical from this board. Sorry I couldn't offer you any worthwhile advice regarding the penance thing. It's just not my forte either. I hope you don't let those that misread, misinterpreted your simple inquiry to dictate your future posting, cause your appreciated here also. Fortunately, there are alot of good hearted, well intentioned people here that make it worthwhile and interesting. Hang in there and I hope you find the answer your looking for.

Actually, I didn't know your question was serious.Pennance is up to the priest,I guess.When I was a kid going every week I always told him the same thing.Lied,impure thoughts blah blah.Always the same thing but always a different set of prayers.The one thing that remained constant was he told me I must skip dessert tonight.No treats for you,he said.That s**ked cause my mother went shopping every Saturday and thats the only time we had any good stuff in the house:(

One time I went after a very long absense and had many things to detail.The priest told me to do "a good Act of Contrition".That was it.Of course, that used to be something I could say backwards but after many years and many miles I couldn't do it so good.We settled on a few Hail Marys.

Pennance doesn't have to fit the confession.

Please remember that it's a Sunday nite.  Things can move slowly around here on weekend.  Even in the best of fights it will slow down on weekends.

Now, I'd be glad to answer your question but I'm not a Catholic.  I'm a Baptist....and you know what a bunch of crazy, fanatical Bible-thumpers we are.  You don't want our answer!

It's always does my heart good to hear from you and Vicky.  You both seems to be happy and enjoyable folks.  I wish I could have been some help to you.

Hi Don,
  I think Kevin has been drowning his sorrows in ale, and shared a little too much information.  I don't think he intended to offend, and once he sobers up he will realize that his answer had nothing to do with your question.
Anyway, it's guys like you that make this board worthwhile.
Hopefully you can ignore the boards temporary insanity and continue contributing.
