That was eloquent! I especially liked the "band of velocoraptors targeting their prey" simile. While envisioning Thai's family liquidating their assets and turning them over to Lori sounds right and just, it's so unlikely as to border on fantasy. I'm no lawyer, but, having sued, been sued, and testifying in a number of suits, one thing is for sure, if Lori is having trouble making her basic necessity payments, there's little she can do to seek restitution for a percieved conspiracy. Anyway, I agree, she should seek pubic assitance - BUT - I believe her main concern is to get this behind her and get back to her life raising her two girls. Anything that gets in the way of that is a waste of time. In the eight lawsuits I've personally been inviolved with as plaintiff, defendent, expert witness, or other principal, I've never seen anyone go away richer, happier, or even mildly satisfied that their grievance was even slightly satisfied (except, of course the attorneys - they all went away smiling.)

I believe she'll do far better going to the INS in the hopes of getting him deported. It might help if she mumbled something about he having Philippine and middle eastern moslem friends and overhearing heated debates in closed door meetings, then flying off to secret training sessions in California......

You know on the last day , before Thai left that morning and I showed him the bills again, I showed him how much money I had. I think it was about $13.00. Really, it was all the money, except enough in the bank not to close my account. He said nothing, he just left. Well, that night (12 hours later) he came home and he was wearing a differant outfit, shorts and a t-shirt. Oh, I siad, I thought you were at work all this time. No, he said, he was at his siter to get something to eat. ahhh...I see...

He did not ask me what we had to eat , or anything.

While he was gone and my car broke down, he said he would borrow money from his brother. NO WAY, I said, your brother is not our bank. But when he returned, i was desparate and said ok, we needed to borrow from his brother. No answer...nothing.

Rediculous, huh? I can't believe I am in this situation. Married and can't even pay simple bills. I have no credit card bills or anything like that. So, it's only necessary bills I have to pay.

When he called me and told me he was finished with school, but it would be about a month before he could take his exam, i asked him to at least get a part time job out there. Was that too much for me to ask??

I don't know. you guys are probably getting sick of hearing everything. I don't know who to talk to. I don't know what to do. You guys have no idea. I can't believe that some people think I gave up so soon. What the he11 am I supposed to do?? What kind of person am I??
I have to work tomorrow. Be happy and try to make some tips. I can't sleep. I don't know what's wrong with me. I have to be strong. Man, you just don't know....you just don't know..

Hi Lori,

I was going to agree with Tim about cultural differences. However the more you explain it, the more it becomes apparent that these people took you. This is waaay past an "Asian" thing.

I wish I could "talk" to him for you, I really do. Since I can't, my best suggestion is GO TO INS immedietly. Report the whole lot of 'em if nesassary. They can't say you entered into a frudulent marriage knowingly, so don't worry about that. The proof is in the PL archives.

Turn that feeling of being taken into anger. Nail this little man. Show him that "Hell hath no wrath, like an AW scorned!"

I'm so sorry this happened. You deserve alot better. Take this azzhole to the cleaners any way you can, Lori. I don't think giving him another chance is gonna work, That's just my opinion from what I read. If you do, it's up to you. I'm behind you whatever you decide. You do have friends here, Lori. Lot's of them.

Press On,
Jay

Call the INS ASAP Lori!  Ask for the fraud investgation.
Tell the the part about you only being together for three weeks out of six months and that you are seeking an annulment.  Deport deport!
