amazing how all the loudmouth blowhards who claim to have been in the military, war vet, say they are "special forces", green berets,
Navy Seals, etc etc...............my brother served in nam, and never
mentions it, since it brings up very bad memories.
The flag thing i flew one after the 9/11 like every one else,
but it got to be a bit ridiculous i thought, and every week i would see bigger and bigger flags on peoples cars, i understand the sentimient involved but see no reason to fly the flag just to be
in the crowd so i stopped about after a week or so since it was a pain to put it up and take it down off my window. You notice you see about 99% less flags now than you did then, Still i never got upset at people flying them, nor did i think people who didnt were unpatriotic. To me its like saying, people who go to church are christians and will go to heaven, and those who dont, wont. Gimme a break.

Hey Outwest,

I also believe that everyone has the right to express their patriotism in their own way. Bigger or louder does not mean better. Before 9/11 I flew my American flag on my house only on holidays. Since then, I have been flying it every day. Like my patriotism, my flag flying is a personal thing for me. I do it in remembrance of my fellow fallen fire fighters, public safety officers, and emergency medical personnel. I was disabled in the line of duty and retired, as was my brother and many of my friends...unable to continue to perform the job, that for many of us, was our whole lives. After almost 6 years, I no longer get choked up with emotion whenever I hear a siren and see a big red flash go past...leaving me behind, knowing I can't follow. As for my P-L picture...Yep, cut and paste...my present head on my "old" body.

Well, now that the regular folks have taken down their flags, it might be time to put up yours and make a real statement.
