Question....

i knew a guy named ray (forgot the last name) who used to live in the diamond subdivision out side of clark and used to hang out at the pool side bar at the d & d inn.  i used to send letters to his apo box that he would deliver to my future wife. is it possible that he is posting to this message board?

Nope, it's not me.

But I used to live in Olongapo City when I was in the Navy. I had an old school buddy stationed at Clark so I used to make occasional trips up to Angeles to run Fields Ave, but that was a loooooong time ago. Angeles was actually quite tame back then compared to Subic.

I think Jay is the resident expert on Angeles City :-)

hi ray, appreciate the quick reply. i just took a chance to see if it might have been you. now that i think about it, ray's last name was warren, ret.usaf back in the early 80's. he's probably still over there. oh, well, thanks again ray.

hi jay, ray's last name was warren and he would probably be in his mid to late fifties by now. he lived in the diamond subdivision by himself (separated or divorced from a pinay w/1 or 2 kids). he helped me to make sure my letters got delivered to my girlfriend by letting me send them to his p.o. box on base. i couldn't rely on the philippine mail system because many of the letters that i sent never made it. anyways, i saw the name 'ray' on this message board many times and i was just curious as to whether or not it was him, but thanks for your reply jay. take care.-jimmy

Come to think of it... I had guy's named Ray living on both sides of me last time I lived in Angeles. The guy on the left was Ray House. He was retired USAF. He died in '97. He was in his late 50's, with a wife about 40 and 2 kids 8 & 10 yrs. old. The guy on the right was named Ray also. He was also retired USAF. I can't remember his last name. He was about 50 and from Texas. Last I heard he was still alive. He'd be in his mid 50's by now, I suppose.
