Been real busy for the last few weeks picking my butt up from where I left off and I went back through this thread looking at some previous posts - and came on one that Jeff made to Nate regarding "the process".  I imagine that there are a lot of people that read but never post (and this one was buried) but this really makes sense, now that I've had time to visit, meet greet.. etc.. live the life and all of that

Sliced and diced here's what was said..

1.  Don't get too caught up in the mechanism of the process.

2.  Don't take every detail too seriously.

3.  Just be yourself and take your time to find someone and fall in love.

4.  You'll not ever find a bride in your first letter, no matter how carefully you craft it.

5.  Look at it not like buying a new car, but like dating with the hope of falling in-love with a special someone and her with you.

6.  I do believe you should tell the ladies you're writing to that you're searching for your soulmate with the plan of eventually getting married.

7.  I think many write just for fun. Conveying your eventual intentions is a good thing.

-- Jeff S.

(Just thought it really made a lot of sense, especially after thinking - been there, and done that - but I'll never repeat my own mistake of #1).

Great advice, Brian. I think too many people jump in this with too great of expectations, thereby making bad choices right off the bat. I know I did.
