I read this book this week, and it was much better than I thought it would be. Name of the book is Eastern Sun, Winter Moon, author is Gary Paulsen. It is an autobiography of a young boy's life. Basically, his mother was a sl**, his father was strict military. They were stationed in the PI directly after WWII. Has some very graphic discriptions of certain events, may not be suitable for all readers. Good story though.
