All my ex hearing g/fs learned it within a couple of months..Only took a year for my ex AW Pinay to become fluent. Sent sign language books to Penpals that interested me in RP...After corresponding with Gregory's mother for over a year, I finally went to meet her in RP. I was shocked to see her signing like an old pro..It surprised me that soooo many Filipinos in the Philippines are Deaf. The reason is becuz alot of the Filipinos cannot afford the Meningtis vaccine or ignorance about vaccine. Their sign language in RP is different from ours, but understandable becuz of their English. I'm telling You that it's fun communicating with them becuz of their sweet face expressions especially those lovely Pinays. I myself suffered from meningtis and lost my hearing at age 8 yrs old. Many of the hearing folks in the Philippines also know sign language. I need a sign language interpreter for group meetings and lectures, otherwise I can communicate with hearing people on my own. I had no plm communicating with the hearing Filipinos in the Philippines, they treated me real gooooood. If they did not understand, we would write back and forth..I'm telling You Lori, they really enjoy writing, thats something I like about them. Most Americans are tooooo impatient to write if I don't understand them..They usually say thats okey forget it. I hope you can take a vacation to the Philippines someday and meet the hearing impaired people there. Lori. I have always thought of You as a Sweet Intelligent Woman on PL...I have never thought of You in my bashing against AWs, in fact no Guy is targeting You. I understand that it hurts when you hear negatives againts AWs, sometimes I cannot stay silent. I will try to tone it down. I want you to be Happy here, your part of the PL family. Again Sorry...Guys You should know that alot of Foreigners are involved with the hearing impaired Pinays, they make excellent faithful wives.   greg
