On Eve of Mother's Day, Mom is Slain

Mr and Mrs Dancel came to USA eight years ago from the Philippines and settled in San Francisco(Daly City near SF is some kinda Filipino Town). Authorities said that they had no previous reports of domestic violence involving the Dancels and the the Hubby had only a minor criminal record(truth???). Here's what happened...Near Lorena Dancel's bloodied body in a one-room apartment, San Francisco Police found a bouguet of red roses and a Mother's Day card promising everlasting Love. Sitting beside the 27 yr old slain Mother was her Hubby Roger Dancel, 39. He had called 911 and said he had killed his Mahal, authorities said Monday. Their two children, age 3 and 5, saw the attack, police said. Children sat on a couch in their apt frozen in fear. They were placed in protective custody. Roger D told police that he was convinced his wife was having an affair and that he had come home early from work as an airport shuttle driver Saturday afternoon investigators said.. Lorena D was stabbed to death. Investigators said that they had found a bouquet of roses next to her, along with a Mother's Day card from her Hubby pledging his Love. Lorena D had recently gotten a job in the East Bay at a medical supply company. Police said her Hubby dwelt on the possibility his wife was having an affair at work, where she was surrounded by Men. "He became more and more jealous-he was monitoring her every move", said Inspector Holly Pera. Lorena D told Her Hubby he had nothing to worry about, and so did her friends assure him Holly Pera said. " I just think he cannot accept her being Indepent out in the World. SF Chronicle 5-14-02

Sounds like a classic case of the ultimate control freak. If you can't control her, kill her.

expecting to treat her the same Here? Rude awaking for Pinoys?? Guys may get away with abusing Pinays in the Philippines, they just cannot treat Her the same in America. Greg,
Think you may have hit the nail on the head. Being an airport shuttle driver isn't exactly on the top of the social hierarchy in the US. Probably a frustrated guy who lost hope, perhaps after other setbacks and who saw his last role as provider being usurped by his wife.

Those whose self-esteem or pride is threatened aren't usually thinking about the practical effects of two incomes; as his acts indicate frequently they can be irrational & dangerous.

That's very sad.  I also have friend of mine-her sister was shot to death by her husband Thursday night (last week) in Pennsylvania.  But the husband commit suicide after murder her.  That's terrible.  Her body was sent to Philippines in Cebu.
