Last wednesday my mother in law called me if I can help her mow their yard.So I went there and help her. It's always my pleasure helping Mom.Besides I would be very happy riding the lawn mower it help me a lot on my driving skills.I first drive the small lawn mower then suddenly I was stuck on the big tree roots. Then the mower could'nt start. So I started riding the big mower and doing pretty good. When I about to finished one side of the yard I decided to mow around the apple tree.Apple tree branches hanging down and smacking me on my face.I was trying to fight off the branches when I turn too short and drove into the tree.I did not know how to stop and reverse I was panic. My hubby know something had happen to he came over to see what was going on.He's kinda upset when he found out that the radiator broke but he never show to me nor he never yell.I feel embarass coz he tell me like this"Lovey how can you run into the big tree?I try to explain but his very upset to see the radiator broke.Him and Dad not yet done fixing the small mower yet and now I wreck the big one.I got the push mower and mowed with it for  while they fixed the small and big riding mower. And that is my first driving accident.

They shouldn't ask you to mow the lawns, the AWs in America thinks nothing of doing everything a Man would do..Stick to tending the garden, cleaning the house, and other feminine stuff and leave the hard work to the Men. I would never allow my Parents to ask my Pinay to do what AWs are used to doing....Before anyone disagree with me, ask your ownself if You can picture your beautiful Pinay doing like AWs? Let AWs be Men if they sooo chose and Let the Pinays stick to being Feminine...Finding a feminine Pinay is one reason Guys travel abroad for Love and Happiness. greg

At least you are OK. Mowers are easy to fix, people are harder. It's a good experience for you to crash now while you're going slow. You can imagine what happens at 10 times that speed. Be patient - driving is a learned skill, not one that comes naturally, and the only way to learn is to do it and make mistakes. Better in the yard with a mower and apple tree than in a car going 60 mph and a big oak tree. Glad you posted your story.

My wife had no troubles driving back in Japan, even doing freeway driving without a hitch - and in town, with the narrow streets, lots of pedestrians and bucycles, she did great. They drive on the opposite side, like Hong Kong (I'm not sure about the PI but from what I hear it's either side the driver wants that day) Anyway, here in Southern California with the wide surface streets, great signals, and 6 or 8 lane per side freeways, she's far more scared, and won't drive on the freeways. Maybe because traffic is so much faster here - most surface streets are 45 or 50 and the freeways are about as fast as you can drive. If you go 65, everyone passes you while giving you the one finger salute. She does fine around town now after one ticket (for an illegal U-Turn) one minor accident (not her fault.)

A busted radiator, that's not bad at all. My only accident in 20+ years of driving resulted in a broken radiator during my first year of driving. If you want I'll bet you could be out on one the big tractors disking fields by next spring.
Carmen is also wanting to drive. So far we have practiced with her driving the scooter and me nervously hanging on. Sometimes I think she drove recklessly so I would hold on to her tighter. When she gets here (soon I hope) I think we'll start out in the pickup on the lanes going along side the fields.
Raquel, from the news I've seen on TV it looks like you should be driving a boat. Looks very wet in your area of Illinois. Hope your farm is on high ground.
