Hi Guys,

I was just wondering: do Filipinas tend to be pretty affection in public?  I've heard somewhere (and I can't remember where for the life of me Smiley that Filipinas are VERY affectionate, and I was just wondering if they're really affectionate in public?

Thanks,
NateD

Depends on your level of relationship. In the Philippines, boyfriend/girlfriend will hold hands. Fiancee's will go arm in arm and "peck" kiss. Husband and wife will lip kiss but not make a show of it and no tongue. If he is returning after a longish absence she will throw herself in her husband's arms and smother him in kisses at the first meeting. But no groping or feeling.

Here in the states, Vicky prefers to walk arm in arm with me, or with my arm across her shoulders occasionally. When we sit side by side, my arm is around her. She will openly kiss me in public. When I returned from overseas I was hit with about a hundred pounds of Filipina in the airport at 60 mph and wrapped up. But that only lasted a few seconds and she wiped her lipstick off me afterwards. Nice to be missed.

In the RP, she prefers to walk arm in arm if it isn't too hot, otherwise it is hand in hand. She will come up to me when we stop and put her arm around my waist and vice versa. She is quite happy to let people know we are married, and she was quite happy to show we were an item before we were married. For one thing, it was a warning to other Filipinas that I was claimed. Her hugs around my waist from the side and arm in arm/holding hands is a visual signal; "WARNING: Private Property - No Trespassing - Violaters Will Be Severely Dealt With" to strange, cruising females. That and flashing her ring set like a police strobe. Filipinas like to claim their man to keep off the competition.

At first, though, you will probably be chaperoned by about a half dozen giggling girlfriends/sisters/aunts/neices. Unless, that is, you are dating an older woman, possibly who has had a child or marriage but been abandoned. Then it may or may not be the case.

Where Filipinas shine in displays of affection are at home, especially after the kids are in bed and/or the lights are out. But even during daytime, at home, she will be very affectionate to you. If she really loves you, that is. You will be the Lord and Master of the household (or at least you will think you are) and she will run the household like the Grand Vizir, knowing when to ask your advice to make you feel lordly and when to go ahead and not bother you with details (most of the time). They manage their men well, for being so "submissive". But you will have absolutely no doubts whether or not your Filipina loves you after the lights are out, after her initial maidenly discomfort is over, that is. As Vicky's mom says, "Love him at night and feed him first thing in the morning, and do not talk too much until he is well into his breakfast." A wise lady. I hypothesize that if more women did that, there would be fewer divorces and much happier husbands AND wives. Vicky also never starts yammering at me when I first get in of an evening. She lets me wash up, brings me a cup of joe or a beer, depending, and lets me get it about done before she brings up the household/social business. She is gracious enough to let me unwind and relax for a few minutes and change gears.

But I am liklely to get a kiss on the top of my head as I reach for first coffee in the morning and when I get in of an evening, or she reaches around me and hugs me from behind as I sit to breakfast and I reach back to grab her but she giggles and dances off to get the eggs on or the toast buttered or something. She has an habit of watching me eat which was a little disconcerting at first but I got used to it quickly. It is another way she expresses affection. She is a very light eater at breakfast and I am not. She nibbles her toast or fruit or rice and watches me eat. As soon as my cup hits the saucer empty she is up and at the pot to pour me a refill. I usually manage to snag her sometime towards the end of breakfast, pull her on to my lap and give her a big kiss. If we have company that's as far as it goes.

But alone in the house I have absolutely no doubt this woman loves me. Nor will you if you manage to marry a Filipina who genuinely loves you.

Only a hooker would be like that in public! Unless your just talking about holding hands. Kissing and groping aroung in public is a no no in the Philippines (unless you are in Angeles city)  Hum

Actually, I lived in AC with my wife and PDAs with her were taboo even there.  I suspect even many prostis will shun PDAs as I never saw them doing much kissing/groping in public either.

You must be thinking of Shadows friend Rick.  As for my self why hang around with a hookers when ther are so many good women in the Philippines? My idea of a vacation is not sitting in a stinking smoke filled bar drunk with a hooker under each arm and a bunch of loud mouthed Germans jabbering. Hum

I found there were more Aussies than any other nationality.  Americans were second followed by Canadians.

Hallo Hum,

Jawohl, die prostituierte. Oops sorry! Shocked)) The subject line translates to "Trust the Germans!"

I agree with you! Let's also not forget that it is no fun sitting around speaking German whle trying to stop a Filipina from becoming a GRO or entertainer in Japan. Which makes me wonder how cc is doing these days.

but I've seen the term GRO a number of times on this board and don't know what it means. Does it mean a bar girl or something?
