She just had a thing for older men.  Aparently one too many.

From the AP found in todays Kyiv Post:

Slain Ukrainian model led double life in U.S., police say
Aug 05 2005, 13:16

(AP) - An aspiring model from Ukraine whose decomposing remains were believed found in a storage facility led a double life that she hid from her new husband - a life that included an affair with a millionaire almost 40 years her senior, a gold Mercedes-Benz and a house that she and her lover were buying.

A woman's body, and a purse belonging to 21-year-old Iryna Singerman, were found Aug. 2 in the bed of a pickup truck owned by her lover, Brian Joseph Cullen, 59. Coroner's office spokesman Craig Harvey said Aug. 4 that identification efforts were still under way and an autopsy was tentatively planned Aug. 5.

Police are hunting for Cullen, who they believe fled to Mexico.

Iryna Singerman's husband, Ronald Singerman, only learned of her secrets last week, when she failed to return home and some of her financial documents turned up along with a bloody baseball bat in garbage bags that were dumped in a bin behind a Woodland Hills strip mall.

"The family didn't know anything about this," said Barry Greenberg, the Singerman family's spokesman. "(Ronald) had never heard of any of this until the case broke. He's devastated."

Iryna Singerman met her 50-year-old husband, who is a certified public accountant, a year ago through an agency that matches American men with Russian women, police said.

Cullen became a suspect in her disappearance because of surveillance camera images and a witness who reported seeing him toss bags into the strip mall trash bin on July 26. The next day, authorities found blood and other evidence of a struggle when they searched Cullen's Woodland Hills home.

Police believe Singerman's killing was a domestic violence incident.

Singerman spent most weekends at Cullen's house, his neighbors said. The pair were buying another house together, according to Los Angeles police Detective Rick Swanston.

Singerman also drove a gold 2005 Mercedes-Benz registered to both her and her husband and kept the car at Cullen's home.

Ronald Singerman knew nothing about the car until insurance information arrived in the mail, Swanston said. His wife told him that her frequent absences from home were related to her modeling work, but Swanston said police were unaware of her holding any modeling jobs.

Neighbors and co-workers described Cullen as a physically fit, private man with a bit of a temper. He owns a coupon book business and is on parole for a federal wire fraud conviction in the 1980s.

Just to give you an idea about some of the agencies in Ukraine, Irina Mayer is STILL shown on the agency "Kherson Pearls" web-site under "women 17-21, page 19, #670, where she has been for the last 2 years. Even after she got married they still have her there. But then, maybe she wanted to stay on the web-site to play some other guys with her game.
It would be interesting to hear what Kherson Pearls would say if someone tried to buy her address or set up a meeting with her.

I don't know if they have only just recently done it, but Kherson Pearls is now showing her as "engaged" on their website. Interesting that some agencies don't simply remove profiles of women who are "engaged" (unless it means that they are still always open to better offers!!)

I knew a girl who had a track record of moving in with guys for a free ride (Italy, Spain, UK, Germany) and she ended up being beaten by a guy in Germany when she became pregnant, to induce a miscarriage. He ended up paying her ticket home to avoid repercussions, and she destroyed half his wardrobe before leaving. It sure gets vicious sometimes...Scary stuff!

This is sad news, but it comes as no surprise to me.
I knew Irina Mayer(maiden name) from Kherson, having dated her a few times as well as her cousin. It became quite obvious she was on the scam game to get whatever she could from whomever she could. I personally saw evidence of her telling quite a number of men all kinds of lies to get them to send her money. Knowing this information, I mailed Ron Singerman copies of letters she had sent to other men professing her love for them and her desire to come and see them in their country after she got funds for her visa, passport, airfare, etc..
After sending him the package and warning him about her dishonesty, I called him on the telephone and spoke with him, but he said he felt their relationship was good, they were engaged to be married, and he was going to continue his relationship with her. So I wished him good luck, and heard no more of him or her again. That was about 2 years ago.
Irina is/was listed on some web-sites as a scammer, and I even wrote to 3 agencies who have "blacklists", including  Jack Bragg's about her dishonest ways. Jack declined to place her on his blacklist without complants about her from more than one source. Irina also had a couple of friends who may still be in Kherson who are in on the same game, and another one who now lives in Florida who came to the U.S. under a similar lie but left her fiance' that went through all the effort and expense of bringing her over on a fiance' visa after only 3 days.
Of course, now some bunch of idiotic lawmakers will now say that these immigrant "mail order brides" must have more protection against those who want to get them over here and harm them.
Where will this lead??

Hey Pete.  Haven't seen you around here in a long time.  Still taking frequent trips to Ukraine?  I also met that Irina and her sister/cousin in Kherson a few years back.  They were both very pretty and very interested in hustling for money.  I met with Irina only once at the Cafe Bonaire, but it was very clear she was just a scammer.  Still, its sad to see what happened to her.  Interesting to see that she is still on Natalia's website, listed as "engaged".  Hey.  What ever happened to that Oklahoma guy who was writing a book and married a Kherson girl???  He sent me a picture from his wedding, but I wonder if they are still married?

I just got an e-mail and some photos today from Randall and Julia. They have left Oklahoma and are now living in Cour d'Alene, Idaho, still very happily married. Doing well.
He is the one who introduced me to Irina and her cousin, since he was seeing her cousin at the time we were living together in Kherson. He felt the same way about Irina and her cousin as you do.

Man & I thought I had it bad. This guy REALLY ignored red flags. I guess all he got was somebody else killing his "wife". So not sure how bad that is. Not to sound crass but sounds to me like Singerman got "lucky".

Wow, FrankO.  I thought you hit a new low for MOB hounds when you wrote about sending your pregnant wife back to Ukraine and divorcing her by default judgment and then expressing relief about not having to pay child support.  And now that statement about how you believe that guy was "lucky" when someone else murdered his wife???  That takes the cake and it says a lot about you.  I'm sure YOU are gonna be a real catch for some "lucky" Ukrainian girl, huh?  Yes FrankO, you do sound real crass.  But then again...you always do.

...So he's not the classiest or brightest of the bunch. So what? Hell, if being crass was a crime I'd been locked up years ago. You want my take on this "sad tale"? OK, I'll be frank too: No tears being shed over here.

We all know what Frank meant and viewed from that perspective I agree: The guy had his ultimate losses cut by her demise. Based on the age delta, her actions, and reputation she would've certainly dumped him after draining everything he had. She was already on her way to doing the same to the even older loser whom, I'll wager, had no idea she was married. All while he was pouring big bux into her. It may have been what drove him off the deep end. Let's face it, Cinderella she wasn't. Succubus is the word that comes to mind. Nope, no sympathy here.

I'm not saying she deserved to die mind you, but it's not like she didn't contribute to it. She wasn't a random victim and she certainly wasn't an angel. It doesn't strike me as much of a loss either. Based on what I've read so far the less people like her in the world the better. Same goes for the guy who killed her. Course, when his time comes it'll be the state doing the killin' so it'll be moral right?

And boo-hoo for the husband, who wouldn't be in this situation if he hadn't been a 50 year old loser who went and got himself a 20 year old trophy wife from an impoverished country. Not to mention he was warned by others who knew the girl was bad news. How come it was so obvious to them but not to him? Uh huh. I'm supposed to feel bad for his "loss" after this gross act of stupidity? Frank took heat over his deal because he was warned and still went through with it. This guy does the same but now he's innocent because of what happened? Guys like him make everyone involved in this endeavor look bad. From where I sit all he did was put another nail in the MOB coffin.

As I recall lawcom practices family law. He must know this isn't all that uncommon. Domestic "bliss" is filled with nutty people and infidelity takes a surprising number of lives every year. The only thing that makes this one slightly different is she was MOB and was done in by the boyfriend instead of the husband.

Bottom line? I won't be losing sleep over any of these folks. We all have to accept the consequences when we commit stupid, dishonest, or immoral acts.

Hey LP I didn't think we'd agree but I'm with on you this one. I'm sure most understood what I meant. Of course coming from an atty...well you know. Anyways I don't see what the big sympathy is for the chick. Bottom line was a criminal & a wh0r3 to boot. bottom line I guess you'd say a prostititue with more of an agenda. Sorry but I agree with that. Also on the loser who killed her not sure he'd get the death penalty. Wouldn't that have to be capital crime? I don't see where 2 crimes were committed then again I'm no atty.
But honestly I don't see where all this outpouring of sympathy for a scamming wench comes from simply because someone knew her in the past. Good grief man!!
As for my situation hey fire away at me man. However if I had someone giving me THAT type of info it would NOT have happened man That's why I dumped the FIRST & SECOND chicks I was dealing with man (agency involved in the scam).

[This message has been edited by LP]

...don't be so quick to congratulate yourself. You'll only look worse than you already do.

First off, the death of any human being is tragic. Especially when the life is taken by another. Her punishment did not fit the crime and the scumbag who killed her should pay. My point was that people can contribute to their own demise in many ways and when pushing the relationship envelope they'd better be aware of the possible consequences. Especially around MOB because it's no secret I feel a fair percentage of the men involved are off kilter to one degree or another.

Play with fire past a certain point and you'd better expect to get burned. It's no different than me tearing around the Mojave desert at 375 knots and 50 feet, something I've been known to do. I accept the risk and if I become a lawn dart I have no one to blame but myself. (Frankly, I think screwing around with another man's wife is far more dangerous).

I used to work in a job that often exposed me to people in "love" who were ready to kill one another. Some did. Domestic stuff makes people crazy, whether it's just between them or a love triangle. As I said, more folks are killed every year over this than you think.

Second, the guy who allegedly took her's IS guilty of a capital crime. I don't know where it occured but if it happened say, in your state, he would almost certainly be put down. Not that it'd be right in that case either but that's the way it is.

I'd also point out your recent experience has no doubt left you a tad bitter. So you were recently burned and lawcom knew her. See where that is going to lead? Like you, it's true most in this guy's situation would feel hatred towards their mate for the betrayal and wish harm upon them but to have it actually happen would still be devastating. I'm not totally insensitive but again, people have to take responsibility for what they do when shaping their lives. At his age he should've never married an MOB kid, should've listened to those who warned him, and used a minimum of common sense. He refused to do any of it. That he felt they'd live happily ever after in light of these facts implies he was delusional. His emotional train wreck was coming no matter what, it just happened all at once.

Lastly, I can understand how someone knowing her would sway them, as she would be more than a faceless name. Remember that every death, even if it's nothing more than a news story, leaves behind shattered lives. My point was not to make less of her's as much as it was that she played the game fully knowing what she was doing and lost.

I'm not totally cold to this event but I also see everyone involved as being reckless, immoral, or just plain stupid.  Therefore I'm not going to get too teary-eyed over them. Besides, I'm somewhat of a cynical guy to begin with. I've seen what people can do to each other. Still, I'm not proud of it and would like to change. There is no need for you to be cynical and you should work at avoiding it because it'll eat your soul. Compassion is a good thing Frank, and Ken's/lawcom's points were not so much about who was at fault as much as they were that you were very quick to forget you should have more.

In hindsight, so should I.

LP,
It is nice to see you backtrack a bit on this.  I agree with Dan, that you hit the nail on the head with:

"First off, the death of any human being is tragic. Especially when the life is taken by another. Her punishment did not fit the crime and the scumbag who killed her should pay. My point was that people can contribute to their own demise in many ways and when pushing the relationship envelope they'd better be aware of the possible consequences"

Two scumbags and a fool are of little value to anyone, but no one deseved to die.
