I was pleasantly surprised to see CNN, although asian feed, HBO,
E channel, etc etc when i was in the phils.
What was funny is all the pinoy versions of the usa tv shows,
Who wants to be a Millionaire, (one  Million Pesos),  The Weakest Link, complete with a host who insults the players just like the version in the usa, all in all, i think the tv shows there are hilarious, reminds me of some of the shows on the spanish channel here in the u.s.a, most of the comedys remind me of the Three Stooges.

Hum i did get that book, lonely planet Philippines, i think i may call some of the monthly condo apartment rental numbers there that i found. I had the book before i left on my trip but now i know a lot of the places the book mentions, at least the ones in makati.

Funny that the book refers to Sabang as "a Seedy town with lots of Bars", why i stayed there i dont  know. LOL

Hi outwest,

Sabang, eh? Sounds like my kinda place Smiley

I have to agree with HumaTarzan here. Makati for a month is no vacation. Get out of Manila, see more of the place.
Don't waste your time and money.

Just my  thoughts,
Jay

Hey Joe,

I really liked the show "ASAP." I wonder if that is carried on the TFC? It is the show where people have some sort of balloon hat filled with powder on their heads. If they don't answer the questions correctly it fills up with air, then explodes covering them in white powder. ;o)))

Yes Pinoy TV is just like the spanish channel here in the states only in Tagalog. I watched Lakbay TV a lot With the san mig team. I like the pinoy MTV better than ours. Some of the movies on HBO where so low budget kaayo!

A month in Makati?  YUCK!!!! You might as well leave that travel book at home City Boy!

Like I said Sabang is not the place to bring a date ;-)  It does have some really good diving but I don't think I would want to spend more than three days there. If you wanted quite you could have stayed just down the beach at Small La laguna or the very quite Whith Beach. Humabdos

rented an outrigger for two days while i was there, the second day we left at about 3pm and ended up at sunset at white beach having dinner, what a fantastic peaceful place and the sunset, wow, that was my best photos i took i should post the pics of that once i scan them, wish they charged less to rent jetskis there, but hey, sure would be fun to try that.

i agree 10 days in sabang was too much although it was not exactly torture.

Like i said i will rent a condo next time or apartment
but nobody said it will be in makati
since my real estate business is going bettter maybe next
trip i will not be so cheap.

as for makati or manila remember all i have seen of the phils is manila , tagaytay, a little of batangas, and puerto, and sabang , so manila was fine with me, butt im open to any great places to go to visit in the phils, and
hopefully not too expensive, and definitely not too many tourists there, actually the whole time i was in manila
i saw about 10 white guys in 10 days, well, maybe more than that, from how i see it, the higher the percentage of foreigners the less i enjoyed the place, and sabang had about hmm, 25% foreigners as opposed to .1% in manila.

I want to go to all the nice places in the  phils, so
please feel free to make suggestions. hum.

Hi Feb,

I liked Asian MTV much better. They actually had videos with people singing in them.
