Hi Frank. I have a request of you for sometime after your wife arrives. I know it might be awhile before you can write but let us know how it was for her getting through customs in Houston. Also, what was the protocol once she landed in Amsterdam from KIev. Was there a place or room she had to wait until her connection to Houston or was she free to roam the airport. If anyone else has already done this you can let us know as well. Also, if there are any of you out there that had fiancee's arrive through a different location, what was protocol. Did customs make it difficult? Did customs give them documents for green card, or ssn?

I'll definately let you know. In Amsterdam she will be free to roam around the airport (which is my worry as I'm afraid she'll spend time "shopping" & miss her flight) however she can't LEAVE the airport as she does not have a tourist or transit visa to Netherlands.
As for Houston I'll let you know upon arrival God willing.

What do you mean by a transit lounge? I just came through there on the 5th of this month. It HAS changed. Before we'd go through customs/passport control then go to baggage collect. Now they have a hUGE baggage collect area THEN go through customs/passport so that has changed. I then caught another plane there to McAllen however I'll be driving up to pick her up. Man changes at Bush intl.

passed through two weeks ago.  Before you go to immigrations there is a sign that says transit lounge.  I did not go there but saw the arrow pointing there.

At the airport cause it's OVER PRICED..(because it really is)!

I Agree, she'll be like any other citizen free to roam the airport inside the secure zone.

If she's going to be there a few hours upstairs there is a McDonalds and a few other resturants...and there is place that offers high speed internet access for a small fee.  I'm so use to slow speed internet...

I was so amazed!

How did they get their tin-can string so tight?
