Joe, I've had a change of heart.  Sally just got her AOS and --- WHAM!  she turned into a 'Sweetheart Swindler', a green card shark, a hooker in disguise!!  No, just joking Shocked)

Too much happening at once:  business travel, serious home remodeling, surgery.  Man, I've even had to pay someone to mow the lawn!  Come to think of it, that ain't such a bad thing.  I think I'll retire my 12.5 hp badass tractor and keep the guy...

Hi Joe,

You know when I first arrived here in Mass. I said to myself "oh my God" this is Massachusetts full of talls trees? Then I quickly asked Jim where is the cities and the buildings here?  He says 45 minutes away from Westford. I almost change my mind and wanted to went back to PI or HK when I saw the tall trees around Jim's house. But no I love my bunny. ;o))

The first week since I arrived that day when Jim left to work I quickly locks all the doors and the windows to make sure there is no bad guy enter the house. When Jim arrived from work he's knocking the door oh my gosh I forgot, I double lock the doors.
I even scared to go out for a walk that day because I'm afraid there is a bad guy hiding behind the trees.

I know Jim having hard time when I first arrived here. I always cry when I woke up in the morning when I saw the trees instead of buildings.  He always bring me to the city where the crowded and the buildings are to make me happy and almost everyday he bring me to his office.

Now I already love the place and the trees, it's a safe place.  That's my first experienced here in America about the trees. Shocked))

... in response to I think I'm a Kapre..., posted by Dave H on May 13, 2002

Hi Dave,

I forgot to ask that question with my grandfather before.  He used to telling me the story about kapre when I was very young in Camiguin.  I remember he told me that the kapre was a huge man, only came out in the middle of the night at huge tree like manggo trees or akasya trees with big cigars when is full moon.  I asked my grandfather if he saw it before, he said yes.  He also said that he even fought with witches before.  Scary!  My grandfather was a story teller.  Every night he told us different kind of stories like fairy tales, and true stories.

I don't know I never see anyone of them like witches, dwarfs, kapre, manananggal, white lady, ghost before.  I hope not or else I'm scared to death. LOL

Maybe that was long ago in the Philippines.

Be proud to have the privelege of living in Henry David Thoreau country.  Thoreau was a well known poet and a Massachusetts native who loved the woods.

Do you ever smell cigar smoke coming from the woods at night? Be careful, I’ve heard that there are kapres living in those trees :-)

Thanks Sally, that was a great story.
