We have been using Russian font provided by WINXP. The only problem is that we have to keep painting cyrillic on each key with enamel or "non erasable" ink, which fade away in a few days. There are many sites on the Internet, which advertise Russian keyboard or stickers. Is there anyone who actually bought one of them? I would like to have one which retains the conventional function, i.e., cyrillic are printed side by side Roman alphabet on keyboard and they can be switched back and forth simply by Alt+Shift. I don't want to install new software. Also, if possible, I want to avoid stickers.

Never used!  Send me $25 and it's yours, postage included in price.

Ask RAGS, as we bought ours at the same time in Kiev.

e-mail me.

We've used the stickers for a couple of years.  No wear problem if they are the laminated variety.  Got different sets off of eBay.  2 were fine, the third had rough edges.  You don't notice them at all on the 2 fine ones.  They are transparent so the English keyboard shows right through.  The vendor on eBay that recently sold us good quality ones was "radugausa".  Total price incl shipping was $3 or $4.
We considered the keyboard route but I like the ergonomic keyboards and the Cyrillic ones weren't that fancy.  Maybe they are offering them now.

the best way to go.
I remember purchasing one of those available "skins" with both language characters that you slip over the keyboard and the ink wore off it in a matter of months and we were right back where we started...

I'm writing on a Cyrillic keyboard as I write this.  It has both English and Cyrillic characters on each key.

I bought it from some place on Yahoo Shopping for $19.99 including shipping.  I saw lots of places selling similiar keyboards in the $20 - $30 price range.

Just blow the $30 and get what you need.  I tried the stickers on a different keyboard but didn't like the feel of them.

I bought a keyboard a few years ago for my wife, and it was not expensive and works fine. It has an IBM nameplate, model KB-8723, the letters are printed on the keys, and no wear at all after almost 4 years use. When you use it, you will notice that it is a Russian keyboard, with the English as the secondary language. I have to do the hunt and peck style more to get the right letters than I usually have to. Changing languages is just a click away, no troubles.
