Do the Ukrainians really want to Trust the Russians.

Did they love Stallin for all his purges to their society?

If the Ukrainians are that dumb to get back in bed with that dopey ole bear.  They deserve to be kicked in the pants.

What's the russian mafia's to do when their economy is in shambles and the girls are no longer pretty?  Turn to terrorism, become mercenaries ?  Hardly.

Course, that's probably why you see all those women toteing machine guns and explosives attacking defenseless women and children at a school.

If their, country (Checnia) presents itself like some thugs. Well, then what do the people have to think of themselves - as thugs.

Same is true with Russia.  The Russian government doesn't really know what road they are on.  Their idealogies are flawed.  And clearly, the last 500 years are a sad story of empires being built and torn down.

Zero unity what so ever.   WHEW!  Thank god, I live in America, and to those that live in some EU country you can thank your lucky stars as well.

Will Russia drag the Ukraine down again... Who knows, probably.  It's their history, which keeps repeating itself.
That's their Utopian society (not all Utopian societies are of a care free nature without civil strive, that's only in a make believe world).

Is like nothing really being said at all!

Why is Powell giving speachs on topics he knows nothing will happen in the first place.  This guy should shut up and get in the back of the bus.

If he ain't got he balls to ride up front with the big boys.

Russia is so worried about Ukraine, that they have left their back door open to China which will put them out of business fastern than the US or the whole EU put together.

Russia, is like one big ole dumb bear!

China got on board the world economic locomotive and the Russia's and still in the caboose waiting for the slack to be taken out of this train... which may never really come.

Their enjoying a little taste of economic growth.  But once America and the free world throw's the switch at the track and derails their economy it'll be shit city for them and the Chinese will eat their lunch.

The whole Eastern Region near China is very dense forest and little cities dot the landscape.  Russia's energies are so focused Ukraine at the moment and will be.  What mountain range separates Russia, the Urals.  Anything close to China will be absorb.  It is in some ways best for Russia to conceed this land mass to allow China to grow and in hopes it will revive some growth to that one massive rural region.

The only reason Russia is up in arms about Ukraine it's about their Black Sea Port, which actually suck because they have to go thru the straits of Turkey.  Guarantee when those ships go sailing through those waters there are GPS tracking devices attached to the bottom of their ships. Actually, probably not.  Because their ships look so gosh awful and made of all that pig iron.

Dream on if you think they'll ever be able to meet the US even 1/4 the way under the Kyoto Agreement.  It's smog city Russia and they'll never get that under control.  They're trying to wage economical warefare with the USA.

Did you see how they're trying to revive the arms race. LOL.
And flex some muscule while they attempt to act like some economic super power and while of course the US Debt is their battle cry.  The US Debt of the Trillions of dollars everybody is so worried about, can be easily wiped clean in a matter of seconds.

The US economy is in excellent shape.  Sure there are job losses.  But nothing out of the ordinary.

You can't base the entire US economy on your t'mater stand. But then again, Greenspan will probably die-off pretty soon and you can apply for his job since you have such a handle on economic affairs.

Please explain this one "The US Debt of the Trillions of dollars everybody is so worried about, can be easily wiped clean in a matter of seconds.". Now this ought to be a jewel of a commentary.

Millions of people do it all time or Just print up more money or Raise taxes on the Rich.  I poor and the middle class ain't got no money.  You decide which one.

Or we can do like many people are saying, wait til the baby boomers start with drawing their IRA & 401K and pension and then really slap a big tax on them.

"Have the country file for BK protection" , the banks (aka IMF, Fed. Reserve, et al) already own the country---you are just a tenant.

Over 70% of the money you spend just to live goes to some sort of tax --- what the heck do you mean "really slap a big tax on them" , just what is big to you?

"Just print up more money" that makes as much sense as all of us here buying a plot of land next to you and then outfiting it with our own greenhouse, t'mater stand and mobile palace. Heck if one is good 19 more will be better won't it? Using your way of thinking that is what the "privately owned" Fed has done since 1913. 19 to 1 is what it's been discounted to. Now that's progress, don't ya think? Nah, don't answer that we already know.

I'm trying to see your point WS, but how does china takeover any part of Russia when they have a nuke shoved up their rear and Putin's finger on the trigger? I can't comment on the reasons Russia is so interested in Ukraine, it would be only speculation on my part. I'm sure there are many reasons not just Crimea/Odesa/Oil pipeline/new EU border ect...

Since, a vast amount of the population is from ole Russia.  The land is just too fertile to give up.  The geography is a large land mass.  Which would have a big long stretch of bordering lands.

If there ever was a war the air time delivery systems of flight over Ukraine would be quite timely.  Where as if the troops were just sitting on the Ukrainian borders, that'd sure live ole Russia in one big ole mess.
