I would rather travel with my Russian friend to Mexico (Cancun area) but I have been told by her that it is impossible to get a visa for a Russian woman.  If anyone knows of any change in this let me know.

I hear the Dominican Republic is a reasonable alternative.  I hear there are charters that go direct from Moscow to the Dominican Republic.  Someone posted some info last summer, about this and that they started again in October.  Could someone post that information again, as I cannot find it.

thanks

I tried the same. Our anniversary is on November 16th & hoped to take my wife to Cancun. No dice. She was really bummed. She found out Uke's are NOT wanted in many countries INCLUDING European ones. I will have to go to the Mexican Consulate myself since I'm from MExican descent & see if I can get anything done when I go over next month. If anyone finds out otherwise please let me know. THe local Mexican consulate is worthless.

Yes a tour operator does this. Look for the information on the internet.

The flights are chartered by a few consolidators, they fill up fast and they are not shown on the airlines schedule since the travel agent buys the whole plane. Getting all this to work takes time and research. The times are when the planes fills up. It is for week and you cannot select the date. The prices is 700 r/t from Moscow. No visa is required and there is a fee for a entry card  about 10 dollars.

It is easier done in Moscow and not from here.
