That's interesting. I never knew that about latins. Funny, thats the same rules as in prison. Alway's thought it was a pretty bizzare way of looking at things, myself.

...it kind of makes sense after all...I think. I just got off the phone with a Cuban guajiro (farmer) friend of mine. Though he himself believes that a bugaron (boinker) is gay or bisexual, the general belief is that they are not. He gave me a parable in Spanish. Something about if a guajiro has relations with a goat or sheep...he is still a man and not a goat or sheep. I don't even want to get into the one he told me about cousins. (

What about in the Philippines...it was sort of the opposite. I met guys who were labeled "gay," that had wives and children. Whatsup with that? I'm going to have to read those "Culture Shock" books again!

as opposed to the winter... you know, six months ago this board was firing up all around, (nobody had anywhere to go all couped up with the computers and all), and now it's kinda dead.  Look at the responses to shadows trip final installments below.  All that's discussed is scary bus rides and betel nuts... lol.  (I've had a few of those scary death defying rides myself, but I've got nothing to add so why prolong misery? lol).  

It seems as if there's been a lot of "permanence" taking shape around here, with a number of folks finding the direction they were looking for.  I wouldn't worry too much about the clique thing.  You don't come off like a know it all, and you had a good time.  That's the most important part.

Now all we need is dave posing in his purple g string.

Hey Brian,

Larry was scaring me too with that bus ride too...and with all the girls that kept popping up on his lap (literally?). ;o))) I thought for sure that the massage lady was a psycho killer...maybe the Dragon Lady's daughter.

..lot of input here to much anymore, cause I pretty much like to just extract what I value and find interesting and let the rest go where it will. Now yup, that's being pretty frank and maybe to some selfish, but it's the truth. And if people want to sterotype or catorgorize it as lurking or whatever they will, that's up to them.

Naturally from my own encounters and experiences in the past, I have realized that pretty much in truth, everyone either does the same as me or tries to find a cushy balance of relating or giving input to things that are comfortable to them or that they care some about. So I guess everyone values the board for what it offers them. The positive side is that it does provide a unique source of input from a variety of people from a variety of lifestyles to reference many attitudes, thoughts, ideas, and perspectives from those who are of learning about Asian relationships and experiences both here and abroad.

And if it makes you feel any better Outwest, I did enjoy your thoughts and reflections on your first adventure to RP. And I do hope you have many more positive experiences there too.

Hey!Outwest welcome back.I was reading on your post and your trip were real interesting.I really plan to reponse to your post but I feel like I don't have enough strength to type some words of response after all what have happen to me lately.I heared about Puerto Gallera and it's very beautiful place I know.
I been busy lanscaping the front and side view of our house and plant some flowers at least I feel relieve when doing this.My sister in law comment's when my hubby invite them to visit the house sometimes to look and see my landscaping she say "Oh it's not a bachelor pad anymore".I understand your post and I slowly understand now why God take back my baby angel away from me.As what my cousin say He never let that my body figure destroyed(just kidding).I'm just trying to be humorous...

I read your trip report and it sounded like you had a great time. This is my busy time of the year been working 7 days a week so I don't post much. I got to make some money so I can bring my honey while it's still sunny to the land of milk and honey, it aint funny cuz I miss my honey she's cute like a bunny!  
As you can see I've been working way to hard! lol

by the way wheres the best place to go to dive
puerto galera was expensive for lessons, etc, but i guess no more than the rest
sabang was a bit dumpy but great corals when we snorkled.

Hey man glad you finally made it, welcome back to the board! There, how’s that? :-)

I don’t know why you would say that the board is clique-oriented. You may not get an instant response, but we don’t tend to ignore anyone here, even trolls (LOL). People get busy and it sometimes takes a while, but we’ll eventually get around to answering everyone’s questions and responding to your posts, so don’t go away yet.

That was a good trip report, but I have one burning question: Did you get engaged or anything serious???
