I cannot begin to guess what motivates a person to become a judge, secure income?, power?, dedication to the law?  Heck, many a day passes when I can't guess what motivates me to practice law, except "if you wanna eat, you gotta work".

That is the problem with any type of translation, machine or human. What you mean to say, might not always be what it turns out that she hears when converted to Russian, or the same thing the other direction. When I sent letters to my (now) wife, I always used 'Promt' to translate into Russian, but I always included the English at the bottom, so if there was any confusion to what was said, the original of what was meant was on the same letter.

Thanks.  Prompt was, in fact, the offending software :-)  Elena wants no part of it.  She told me to just write English -- period. :-)
