to come to the States. This time, a new courier service handled the processing/paperwork to/from the embassy (it used to be FedEx). The new company is a service I had never heard of (already can't remember the name), but it is all spelled out on the US embassy for Moscow website.
Any way, she filed the visa application in a neighboring town and then was called in to the embassy for finger printing (this is new). She went to the embassy for this and was told on the spot she'd have her visa in a few days via the courier service. Others at the embassy were told that they wouldn't be getting a visa. At least you know right away and don't have to wait on the courier service to see if it is a yea or nay.
No interview required....but she is over 65.
