... in response to Moscow accommodation, posted by crazysexycool on Jun 29, 2004csc, the closer to Red Square, the center of the center, the more you pay. There are two room (one bedroom) flats in the center for $90 to $120 a night. Three room (two bedrooms) from $110 to $140.
As you get away from the center, 10 minutes by taxi, the price drops, and 10 minutes further it drops even more.
The Rossia Hotel is as close as you can get to the center, it's best attraction is it's location. You can get flats as low as $85 facing Red Square, away from Red Square for $65 a night. I had no problem staying at the Rossia and depending on the situation would sometimes stay here. Their will always be rooms available at the Rossia.
On the otherside of Red Square, on Tverskaya, about 6 minutes walk from Red Square their is a nice two room flat for $85 a night. Second floor balcony overlooking Tverskaya. If you turn to your left you can see Red Square about 250 meters. I know of no other flat for rent that is more in the center of the center. If your interested in renting it holler at me and we'll check it's availability.
