When do the air fares drop back down from the summer highs?  Planning for the inlaws trip here.  Thanks in advance.

I did a Yahoo travel search and chose the flexible dates option for the flight search.  It showed the rates to Moscow falling on September 13th.  Those rates are half what they will be in the second half of July.  If you have the time to drive to other airports then you can enter key airport hubs as your starting point.  I tried Atlanta and Chicago as starting points and can save $300 on air fare but I might just burn that up in gas getting there.  In your case you could look at LAX but I always prefered to fly out of San Diego or Ontario when I lived in Southern California.

1-800-low air fare
Some of their international trip schedulers are smarter than the average bears, especially routing around the summer olympics and there should be some extra over-bookings because of it that might be bought out by consolidators and practicully given away...
Good luck...

Ken, usually after Sept. 15th the prices are lower. There is no set in stone date, but usually from Sept. 10 thru 20th the airlines drop their prices to the level before the summer crunch time.

Check after labor day.  The best prices are between November 1 and April 1.
