documents?  I am hoping she only needs her green card and her international passport for a visit she will be making in a few weeks- Iwill be sending for my visa from chicago again in the next day or two.

Domestic passport? International passport? No comprendo. A passport is a passport, issued by the nation of your citizenship, stating that you are a citizen of that nation. A green card is your permanent USA residence visa. You need your passport issued by the country of your citizenship, plus visa(s) for the countries you'll be visiting plus your green card (or other type of US Visa) to return to the USA if you're not a citizen. As the poster below stated, if the name on your passport and green card differ, then some formal document, like a marriage certificate, is needed to correlate the two. After your spouse receives her green card, she should go to the embassy or consulate of her home country here in the US and get a new passport issued with her married name, irrespective of whether the pasport is about to expire or not. Just my 2 cents worth.

Jeff, during the Soviet times ladies from the FSU had two passports, one was an international passport and the second was a domestic passport. Many ladies today still have their domestic passport, which won't help them in any countries outside the FSU.

as far as i know the citizens of CIS still have 2 passports, that's the way they do it there for some reason.

Yes, one (domestic)for traveling within FSU and the other (international) outside FSU. Sometimes the name of the passport carrier is spelled differently in these two passports. The domestic passport allows the person to travel within FSU without a visa. In some cases they have a discount on admission fee for a museum.

According to my wife, US citizens carry an internal passport, too.  She says it's called a "driver's license".

DL is often an international passport in three countries of North America.

You're right. Each "state" here "is" a seperate country------"united" by aggreement for certain things. The object of many organizations including the "Ford Foundation" were not to bring countries like Russia to our level, but to lower us to their level and it's coming.

Keith,
I would suggest she take your marriage license as a way to tie her from her from her maiden name on her passport to her married name on her green card.

..the airline check-in won't let her board w/out the marriage licence...a must have!

I have found it better to purchase tickets for my wife in her married/maiden name so as to avoid ANY confusion.
