Someone told me that they took the Chunnel from Paris to London and another time the ferry over the Channel, and on the England side, because of open boarders, noone checked passports.    I know this is true for Spain  and France, by way of auto travel, but does anyone know if this is true for England?

All passports are checked on the EuroStar train and the ferry from Calais. The good news now ia that Eastern Europeans who have recently joined the EU can freely enter England. That includes Poland, the baltic states etc.

Lots of Eastern European girls around working as waitresses etc in London. Its easy to distinguish the FSU girls from tne English girls. Friend of mine with a girlfriend from Latvia has his girl coming over next week, she can now live and work legally in the UK. Hey John, you need a hot air ballon.LOL

It probably depends on what documents they present to the embassy in Moscow. I met a few RW who came to the UK on students visa for English courses. These ladies are fluent in English so they spend the time working illegally and saving their money to take back home.
