The missus and I have been working on a cosmetics website since fall last year.  We recently finished the credit card transaction functionality, and are putting on the search engines later today.  If you have free time, stop out at www.marinascosmetics.com and let us know what you think of the design.  We are always looking for good ideas...

Nice design!  Keys are to keep it simple, informative, and on point with your product and target market.  Looks like you hit all the key points!  Best of luck to you.

John,

I like the website design. Colors are nicely done and the organization seems great. Very infromative too - especially the Advice sections.

My only suggestion is that I sometimes would scroll down a page, and the primary navigation buttons across the top ("Home" "About Oriflame" etc) scrolled off the top of the page and instead of being able to quickly hit a button to navigate, I had to re-scroll back up the page.

Small point really - and one you can probably solve with a frame at the top of the page with your primary navigation buttons (or another solution - whatever).

Best of luck to you and Marina.

- Dan

We had a menu system that worked that way (and incidently looked identical to what we have now).  The problem is that it refused to work with yahoo web hosting.  It's a shame, because it was a free menu.  Instead, we had to purchase this menu system.  It was a tradeoff of money versus time.

Supposedly, the menu vendor is looking into a floating capability, but is more concerned with stability.  We reloaded updates to the menu once already, due to stability issues with older versions of Netscape.  I'll take stability over gee whiz any day.  :-)
