I'm one of those not so smart guys. I would never go to the FSU in the winter if I were wanting to meet a lot of Russian women. If I were going to meet one, or two, then maybe but not if I were going to meet a lot of ladies.
For the most part these ladies love to walk thru there cities and with pride show you their monuments, museums, parks, friends. Have you seen the snow drifts in the FSU in January? And we thought snow was suppose to be white, what is this frozen gray colored stuff 3 and 4 feet high everywhere you walk? It's dirty snow. It will disappear in the spring when it melts. If most Russian ladies had a choice of walking a guy in the spring compared to the winter, I think most would prefer the spring.
And when you are meeting a lot of ladies one must take the many little things into consideration. We tell our clients if they see a pretty Russian lady as they are walking, if they make good eye contact and there is a nice smile and the guy wishes, our people will approach the lady and tell her that there client could not help but to notice her beauty and pretty smile and maybe she would like to met him over a drink. Sometimes ladies are married or have boy friends or are not interested or just do not have time, but sometimes ladies do agree to have a seat at an outside cafe and have a drink of juice or tea to meet a guy, sometimes the ladies are in a hurry and will give her phone number to arrange a meeting later. Well, in the winter time you lose this opportunity to a great degree. Many times when walking in the winter these women are covered from head to toe with big, long coats, boots, scarf's, hats, gloves. Often you can't tell a babe from a grandma. And outside cafes in December, January, February! Forget it.
If you have already met a woman and you want to spend more time with her, then visiting in the winter can be ok but if your plans are to see a lot of ladies, I just could not recommend doing so in the winter months.
