Hey Guys.. my fiancee got her package from the embassy to start getting everything in order for her interview. She went to the local office in Dnepropetrovsk to get her police certificate. They told her she must go to Kiev. They also told her there are two types and I remember reading on some of these groups where the woman got the wrong certificate. She was told she needs to do the one for all of Ukraine. Is this true? She is trying to call the embassy now but she is not getting through so I thought I'd ask here as I try to look for the answer.

Also if she does go to Kiev can she get the medical exam now? We are asking for a June 1 interview so just wondering how long the medical and police reports are good for. It will be nice to get both on the same day.

Thanks!

First thanks for all of your help. Here's what she was told for future reference...

Medical - it is good for 1 year so you can get it done whenever it is convenient..

Police Certifiate - Yes, you can get it in her own city but the embassy said many of the places will say you can only get it in Kiev. That is false... Also the certificate is good for one year.

Medical exam is good for either 6 months or a year.  I don't remember for sure.  My wife got her medical exam on December 25, 2002 and had her interview on May 14, 2003.  No Problem.  She also received her police report in the city she lived in.

Hey Z,

Anna says that they are only partially correct.  She does need her police record for all of Ukraine but she does not go to Kiev to get it.  She needs to go to the place where she first received her Ukraine passport when she turned 16 (she is at least 16 isn't she?) Wink  Anna is from Krivoy Rog and she went to the central police station there (where she was originally issued her Ukraine passport) and they were able to provide this document for her with the usual Ukrainian setbacks, etc.

Regarding the physical, DO NOT HAVE HER DO THIS NOW!!!  If you are asking for a June 1 interview you may have problems with dated records.  I don't remember the time period they allow but I would suggest that you travel to Kiev a week before this date and the two of you go to the Ministry of Oil together to have this done.  There are only two places in Kiev to have this completed and the Ministry of Oil is the less expensive of the two and you will get all your documents that day as long as you get there in the morning.

Good luck!

I don't think she needs to go to Kyiv, she needs a report from each city in which she has lived.  If she has spent her entire life in Dnepro, then that makes it easier.

Don't go for the med exam until you receive the packet info about doing so.
