Boy this is gotta be a first.  We finally get our appointment for Angelica's AOS interview and she's in Ukraine for 5 weeks visiting her family. We filed for her AOS last August at the Santa Ana, CA. BCIS.  This office tends to move at a nice pace.  They processed her Advance Parole for traveling in just 2 days. When we went down to pick it up a couple of months ago they told her that her AOS interview would probably be in June. I laughed and told Angie that we'll probably get an appointment in April when she's gone.  Sure enough it's for April 16 and she returns on April 24.  So I'll have to request another date and hopefully it won't be to far into the future.

By the way Angie came to the US in May of last year and this is her first trip back home.  Her mother loves sweets and Angie's suit case was packed with boxes of cake mix, frosting, fruit jams, blueberry muffin mixes, baking pans, California wines, Kahlua, Puerto Rican Rum for her Dad and about 3 pounds of See’s candies (a premium candy company here in the West) which her mom loves.  Her suit case weighed almost 60 pounds and she packed very few clothes.  Her plan was to take “exotic food” to prepare for her parents and then shop for those far more sexier and modern clothes that you can only find in Europe.  You guys who have been to Russian and Ukraine know what I'm talking about.  Anyway she's having fun with her family and misses me terribly and after only a week would like to come back home.  She's from Simferopol and her parents live in a small village about 30 minutes outside of Simferopol.  She says she really misses her new country of America and she hasn’t been able to take a shower in 2 days because they haven't had water in the village since then. What a lovely place.

She got her Divers Learners Permit about a month before she left California and yesterday I bought her a 95 Ford Mustang as a surprise. She's really excited about this and she can't wait to get home and start her driving lessons. I normally don't have too much time to contribute to the Board cause I spend most of my home time with Angie.  With her being in Ukraine now I have a lot more time on my hands and I'm a bit bored.  You get real used to having these sweet girls lavishing attention on you constantly and when they go home for the visit it's a real reality change.  Take care everyone.

Good to hear another positive story Mark =)
My wifes from Dnepropetrovsk.

I was only in Simferopol once when my plane was diverted to there by weather and had to take the 1950's bus to Dnepro..
dead of winter- no heat ,, no bathrooms!! no food or drink..
although we umm err
"borrowed" the food and drink cart of fthe airplane (shows you how lax security truwekly is there, plus they never checked my passpoprt either..lol)

The driver would stop along the road when one of the 15 or so passengers needed to go..
about ten hours trip ..
fun ride Wink

No fond memories of Crimea for me lol
but i do wanbt to go back someday with my wife to vacation there as so many people say it is great!

Interesting adventure AJ277.  Nothing like the bus trip from hell in the middle of the Ukrainian winter.  Angie says that Dnepropetrovsk is a very nice city and she likes it.  Said she wouldn't mind living in that city if she was still living in Ukraine.  Actually the Crimea is a great part of Ukraine to visit.  You've got Sevastopol which is interesting to visit, you've got Greek ruins, mountain cave cities, caverans, Muslim palaces, beautiful churches, some fantastic Russian castles/palaces and the beautiful Black Sea coast and resort areas. I've been there twice once in the late summer and again for Christmas/New Year.  It's diffenetly a place you and your wife would enjoy spending a few days.
