Does anyone have the latest info about how soon a fiancee has to enter the U.S.? My Ukrainian lady hears some rumor that the fiancee must enter the U.S. within two weeks from the date of issuance of K1. Where can I get this particular info for sure?

Any help is appreciated.

Yes I was just in the American consulate in Kiev 4 days ago and received this info...

K-1 Visa is good for 6 months after it has been issued and the person can then travel to the states anytime during this 6 month period....

Hope this helps.....If you need anything more please ask I will be sure to help in any way possible, my connections in Kiev are growing rapidly and am finding more and more information on business and travel through out all Ukraine.

Ciao.........

Practically the only way to get  A Russian or Ukrainian woman to the US is to apply for a "Fiancee Visa" from the Immigration and Naturalization Service. These visas are good for 90 days and they take from 3-5 months to get. If you decode to marry while she is here, she can stay permanently from then on. If you decide not to marry she must leave the country within the 90-day period (this will not affect your ability to obtain a visa for another woman in future).
Some men prefer to apply for these visas on their own. However, be advised that it is a complicated procedure that is nit for everyone Smiley

The thing is not so simple as it may seem. It takes sometimes up to 9 months to bring your fiancée to the US. Please, address the following page for details:

As I recall, the K-1 visa is valid for 6 months before it expires.  After entry, it is valid for 90 days (provided it's at least 90 days before the expiration date).

Actually the 90 day period once in the US is seperate from the 6 months the Visa is valid.  So the visa holder could enter the US at 5 months and 29 days and then have 90 days to get married or leave the country.
