Not to be a corporate shill, but I just noticed that the fringe
Discovery channels (digital cable or satellite) are replaying both
russian bride related documentaries this week if you haven't
seen them yet.

Seeking Russian Bride: 2/13 and 2/14 on Discovery Health

Russian Bride: 2/9 and a bunch of other days on Discovery
Times.  Lots of showings check the site

I don't have those Discovery channels that air these programs so I was wondering if anyone here had copies on video they'd like to share? I'd be happy to pay whatever it costs to copy, send, and a few dollars for your troubles. If you have any more of the many programs on this they have shown over the years I'd love to get copies of them.

Thanks!
Z.

Yep saw it last night.  4 stories.  2 had pretty happy endings, with the Russian girl coming to America and starting (or expanding) the families.  One of the girls, Elena I think was her name, looks to have some great artistic talent.

1 girl had a low opinion of American men who come to Russia looking for brides...think the term she used was "losers".  But she was a successful woman tooling around in a Mercedes.

The other woman was older and had 2 children.  She has been engaged to an American for 2+ years.

Always interesting to see the stories and the types of men and women involved.  So far I've only seen one story where the American was a total idiot, all the others have come across (on camera at least) as genuinely nice guys.

I agree, 2 happy endings.  Amazing artwork by the one.

The blonde who was critical was pretty hard and somewhat masculine IMO.
Good luck to her.

The woman engaged forever appeared pretty indecisive.  Body language was
a no-go.  If I were that guy, I'd have moved on.  For her, hey, it's free stuff.
Glad I'm not a millionaire.

Guys who have been there: is it realistic that her shoes' soles were made of
cardboard?

The only scary part was the interview with the agency owner.

Yep, I saw the same show, that one girl had great talent at painting, really had some wonderful paintings. I think it was a little hard to read the personalities of the girls, but two looked happy. I wasn’t too thrilled with the age difference between the men and their wives, big gap. The one who was dating the American for two years, I got the feeling she was using the man for gifts and money and really didn’t want to marry the guy, no physical attraction at all. The woman driving the Mercedes was pretty bitter about the whole process, and I don’t think too many men would want to date her, too cold. Most of the men seemed very nice, but very old, looking for a lot younger women, but at the end, two were still married, so it’s a good sign.
