My fiance' says they reported a poll on the news.
42% of Ukrainians consider Valentine's day a holiday.(mostly those under age 30)
34% of women expect to receive something from their loved one.
but 78% still consider Women's day more important.

... in response to Valentine's day, posted by Gman on Feb 14, 2004

Well, one woman I am (was) writing too, was very upset that I only sent her a virtual bouquet and not the real thing. I have only been writing to this girl for less than a month and we have not even spoken in person. I am sorry to say that it seems many of these women are becoming more and more like their American counterparts, in that they think men owe them the best all the time. It is a shame.

Well, also women should understand that V-Day is supposed to be about the romance between a couple, which inherently includes us, the men.  We men get very little gratitude in our culture.  V-Day, unlike Women's Day, should also involve a woman showing her interest in her man with something thoughtful.

Just my thoughts.
