Red and his wife Marife have built a VERY nice place for themselves on the western shore of Cebu island. They have also donated a lot of time and money into the community.
After dinner and a brief rest, we went up to watch Red play basketball. They have a bunch of teams set up, and Red's team is in first place. After watching for a short time, I found it hard to believe someone of Red's size and weight could do what he was doing. He must outweigh me by 70 lbs, and is no taller than I, but he ran up and down the court for 2 hours non stop. I was sweating from watching him. The other team had some very good players, but they all played as if it were every man for himself. Red's team played as a team. Red's team won by 6 points, beating much younger and healthier players. They beat them with teamwork.
Afterward, we partied and BSed until 2 am. Then I crashed.
Sunday morning after coffee we walked up and down the beach for a while. I took quite a few pics of the beach, nipa huts, and the cockfight arena, which is quite elaborate. There were to be cockfights that evening, but I had to get back to Cebu to catch my early morning flight to Manila.
We caught a ride back to town with Red's neighbor. This was a much saner ride than our trip up on the bus, arriving back at Eddies about 3 pm. We then went down to Carbon market to see if our supplier had any product for us. She didn't. Just more BS, and reasons why not. We went back to Eddies, and Rick took a nap.
I went to try to find a box to take what product we had back in. I went to Robinson's department store and bought packing tape. On the way back there was a girl selling cigarettes in front of Mcdonalds, and she had a large cigarette box. It looked like a big hard pack of smokes, but it was just the right size for what I needed. I asked her if she would be willing to part with it, and she told me I could have it for P15. I gave her P20. I now had my box which was to become my luggage. I went back to Eddies and packed for my departure in the morning.
