Hello folks:

I just wanted to write a quick note and tell you about what's happening here.

I had a good flight. We had a tailwind out of Los Angeles, so we got to Tokyo 1 hour early. And I arrived in Manila at 8;40 PM....that's 50 minutes early.

Sunday I flew here to Butuan City.  We are having a roasted whole pig today.  That's a new experience for me. I'm looking forward to it.

On Wednesday we will go to Cagayan de Oro for a few days.

I'm having a good time. Tess says hello to all.

I'll check in later.

One last thing.  I stayed Saturday nite at the Executive Plaza hotel. Nice place. I'd recommend it.  But I had to go across the street to get some rolaids.....airplane food, you know.  It was about 11:00 PM and as I crossed the street to my hotel a young girl came up and said "Would you like a full body massage?"  Fellows....this clearly demonstrates several things we've all been talking about.

First, it shows how intuitive these Filipinas are.  Answer me this question....just how did this sweet young lady know that I have been flying for 18 hours and that my muscles were sore. I just can't figure it out.  But these women are intuitive and know your needs.

Second, She was polite.  When was the last time that your american lady asked if you'd like a back rub (or anything else.)?  But these women want to be polite. that's what we american men are looking for.

Third....she was humble.  As she approached me she looked over both shoulders before asking me if I wanted a full body massage.  Don't you like an humble woman?  Aren't you sick of these cocky americal women who are always pushing. I am.

And finally, she was respectful.  She was about 18 and I'm age 53 (but I don't look a day over 26).  In America kids have no respect for their elders. But this young woman sure did.  She sincerely wanted to help me.

I tell you, I think this young lady would be a good catch for some of you single guys.  By my analysis she definately has traditional values.

By the way.....do you guys think I analyzed the situation correctly?

More later.

Stephen Brittain

PS...

I should have added to the young lady,  "Besides, my wife would kick both our butts.

hey, man....just be careful of "polite" girls there in Butuan....believe me I was born and raised in Butuan (18 years).....just be extra careful there might be more "goons" surrounding you that night and she was the bait.....

Still a Virgin

A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands. On their wedding night, she told her new husband, "Please be gentle, I'm still a virgin."

"What?" said the puzzled groom. "How can that be if you've been married ten times?"

"Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative; he kept telling me how great it was going to be.

Husband #2 was in software services; he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me.

Husband #3 was from field services; he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up.

Husband #4 was in telemarketing; even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be able to deliver.

Husband #5 was an engineer; he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method.

Husband #6 was from finance and administration; he thought he knew how, but he wasn't sure whether it was his job or not.

Husband #7 was in marketing; although he had a nice product, he was never sure how to position it.

Husband #8 was a psychologist; all he ever did was talk about it.

Husband #9 was a gynecologist; all he did was look at it.

Husband #10 was a stamp collector; all he ever did was... God! I miss him! 'But now that I've married you, I'm really excited!"

"Good," said the new husband, "but why?"

"You're a lawyer. This time I know I'm gonna get screwed!"

In my opinion, you've got to discern between sincerity and flattery.  Sure it's very flattering for a male with thinning hair to get such attention.  You know, I started losing hair in the shower when I was still 16.  I'll never know 100% what women truly want versus "quid pro quo" flattery.  From what I've read before, to make a point, a bald man is about attractive in a woman's eyes as a "flat-chested" woman is in a man's eyes.  But that's just a stereotype.

I think that in America, if a man is beyond what appears to be his youthful prime, he's no good.  I've had the wife of a best friend accuse me of "robbing the cradle" for even contemplating a girl more than 4 years younger than me.  Circumstantially she's 1 year and 2 months younger than her husband.  Ironically, of her late maternal grandparents, there was a 12 year age difference between her grandfather and her grandmother.  Go figure!
