We had our green card interview last June 17, 2003 and was told by the interviewing officer that everything went very well. That we should be receiving an approval letter within a few weeks after the FBI background check is complete. We have heard absolutely nothing since then. We went to the BCIS office on September 6th and was told the case was still in a "pending" status. We then contacted Senator Kennedy's office who stated the same thing. In fact, they stated that the Ukraine is on a list of 29 countries compiled by Bush/Ashcroft which requires additional background checking. Hence, it takes much longer. We contacted Kennedy's office again a couple of weeks ago and received the same statement saying we should hear any day now.
Has anybody else had this experience? Anything you can add? THX!
