I wonder where this 75000 figure came from.  According the INS in 1997 there were a grand total of 6,400 fiance visas from ALL countries (Asia, Latin, etc) of which only 79% were women.  I realize the annual number may have increased, but the 75,000 figure seems an exaggeration.
